It's snowing in the north of the Netherlands. Let me repeat that, it's snowing. It's the end of April, what the heck!?!!?! Global warming eh?
Seems we'll be toasting the King's Birthday in our winter jackets!
Anywhere else it's snowing?

It was sleeting in Sheffield yesterday and heavy snow is forecast for Thursday.
Snow here in North East England... not too much for me but I have seen a few cars with an inch or two on them driving to work...
I was in the Netherlands for Kings Day last year, it was warm and sunny for most of the weekend!
Sunny cycling in this morning on the Hampshire / Sussex border but jolly chilly, even with full gloves my hands were tingling when I arrived.
Ne'er cast a clout...
Snowing but not settling for the last two days in Aberdeen.
Nothing in Darlington... been cool 4C but sunny. Off to Newcastle now.
9 days ago, woke up to this. Shropshire hills, clear at the moment. Keep it over on the east coast...............
It started last Saturday. My son and I attended a Dinghy Regatta in Workum - in Friesland, northern part of The Netherlands. What started as a windy, chilly morning turned into deepfreeze race.
Halfway through the day, the sailors were caught by a squall. Enormous wind gusts, hail and snow. The regatta was cancelled and between two hailstorms, all sailors got home safely. Some with a damaged boat, but that's all in the game.
Some pics to underline the story; pay attention to the sky...
Early Saturday morning: chilly, sunny, breezy. A perfect day for racing! 15 knots wind; 4bft, almost 5 bft.
During the race, wind's picking up. between 22 and 25 knots = 5 bft, almost 6 bft.
More or less a supercell hanging over the race course... Racing committee is communicating with all coaches, jury and rescue member, announcing abortion of the race. Wind speed touching a little over 30 knots = 7 bft.
Abortion of the race. As I later found out, the two sailors leading the race had agreed to nutralise the race and they had agreed to stay close to each other, just making sure that the other would not be in trouble. Maurice, my son, was preparing for his start of the his group. All he could do was sit and wait for the storm to pass.
Wind gusts over 34 knots = nearly 8 bft. As so often, during heavy rainfall, the waves tend to be 'squashed': they appear to be lower than a few minutes before it started to pour down on the sailors.
Within minutes, the squall had passed and the wind died down, 11 knots = 3/4 bft. Races were cancelled for Saturday. And all returned to shore. No problems, no injuries. This final pic was taken less than 20 mins. later than the pic above. Look at the absence of white foam on the waves, the pretty sky... However, in the background, just above the horizon, a new storm is approaching! (In the middle, with NED 2586 my son Maurice).

Two degrees and snowing here today - ridiculous.
Balmy in Malta but I'm still looking forward to flying back to the UK tomorrow.
I've just seen about 30 seconds of snow fall here in London.
There's been a total of around 12 seconds snow in Sandbach this afternoon .... so far!
We had snow in Brighton earlier!!!
Just had a brief snowfall here too.
I find seasons overrated !
The view from my office - this is what partly cloudy means ..

Sheffield is getting some
Snowing in Huddersfield as I type.
Sometimes it snows in April
I get rather annoyed whenever I see comments like this. Global warming refers to the climate. Climate and weather are two totally different things. It does NOT mean that the weather is getting hotter. In fact, it results in more rain, storms and generally unusual weather, like snow in April. And yes, it's pretty cold here in the UK right now too.
and Greenland is called that way because part of was it was green forested when the Vikings had a colony there.
The jokes about global warming are just that and global warming is a problem regardless of the cause.
The problem however is not the warming but States and their borders.
Back on topic; wonderful weather!!!! As in full of wonder.
I miss seasons. Much as I like the climate here, the same weather everyday gets rather dull after a while.
Howling hail storm here in Staffordshire at present.
Perhaps Prince just wanted to be proved right?

Snow and hail in Sheffield
It was very briefly sleeting here in NW London around 18:30 today.
it was sleeting in north london at around 3.30pm , and its almost may . ridiculous !!
We've had a really mild winter - not had any snow since January, and last week we broke temperature records with a daytime high of 28C.
We have had plenty of snow in the mountains to the west of the city, but it dumped it all there, and dissipated before getting to Calgary. It is not a complaint after a couple of really long winters, but like you say, this place is huge - watching the national weather forecast is always interesting - we in the west have had a mild winter and early spring, but the folks in the Maritimes (Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador) have been getting pounded with week after week of snow.
Things are getting better overhere in Holland. Temps are rising, slowly but certain. Bracknell's 15 day forecast predicts 20+ C temps around mid May!
