Bit past the weekend I know....unfortunately was out all weekend ...helping at guide dogs and then some business promotion all Sunday.

Only good thing about the complete lack of interest in the UK media is unlike F1 I can easily avoid any results ...

Ride of the day... Well at least some excitement was yes Binder.. who made it interesting ... but Bulega looks like what Fenati should have been and could well inherit the Rossi crown...that was Rossiesque into final turn for sure....

Dull race in 2 but didn't mind as confidence boost for Lowe's means he really could do it this year...and watching him sideways was epic anyway.... loved loved loved the in detail piece on him dropping the clutch and banging it out sideways...that slipper clutch and gearbox must be immensely strong to take that abuse lap after lap...

Main race dull again unfortunately..great for Lavertey and as for the GOAT... Well ...Marquez is special ...Lorenzo is not exciting to watch but is an amazing smooth rider... but Rossi....how does he do that at 37 against those young guns?
He really is very very special and unique... No wonder he's so entwined in GP....

Folger to Tech3 for next season.....

    Le Mans this weekend ...

Had a great time there few years back despite the weather.....

Yamaha track as it's quite stop and start I think and Honda lacking acceleration ...Ducati .., Unknown could spoil things a bit though... Do expect Lorenzo to fight back this week though...

    He sure is the favorite.
Far from over though as it was the other way around on Jerez.
Seems to me that this crazy season is likely to be a three way battle.
Marquez and/or Iannone may very well take Jorge out next time.

Dani stays with Honda for two years more.
Marquez is bound to stay too so that is HRC sorted for the next two years.
Makes you wonder a bit what Honda is looking to do with Michael vd Mark.

    Maverick to Yamaha.

Iannone taking his seat at Suzuki.

Just read that no other rider than Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner won a MotoGP since Assen 2011.
Let's hope that Vinales and/or the two Ducati rivals can add some variation this year.

Worst kept secret in Motorsport but think that's great choice by Maverick,

a year to learn Yamaha without really treading on 46 too much that it gets explosive between them and giving him (46) one final fling before retiring in 2018

So in 2018 Maverick can go all guns blazing for title ..... This means him taking over from Lorenzo to promote Yamaha in Spain (but with a more popular image than JL)

Very unlikely they wouldn't offer a contract - but bizarrely they could leave him out of Moto GP

Oh man , that was fun!!

Rossi will be well chuffed as will Vinales although he VERY nearly topped it. In all reality Rossi has pole because he had such a good draft from his future team mate.

A bit odd that Dovi did not make the cut while Iannone had a go for the top.

I am hoping for the the podium being like the front row.

Marquez confirmed weeks ago that he would stay with Honda. No question about it he said, they were simply putting the dots on the 'i's.

Great qualifying in all 3 classes actually.....

Superb in GP.... Stoner said Dovi can't quite get together on track right now, not sure what problem exactly but on Friday did have neck problem hampering him....

Brilliant tactics from 46 to bang that pole ensuring Tuscany will be insane tomorrow .... And so promising fr next 2 years... Mav to quietly learn Yamaha in '17 but ready to upset Rossi for sure in '18 ....
Great from Bradley too... Deserves recognition for that,,,

Lorenzo in 5th with young guns ahead and Marquez.... Could be real fireworks or a damp squib.....

Awesome lap so early from Lowes... That's class no one could beat it and rivals further back and Rins crashing has set his program back ...though he's still a threat on the day Sam has real chance to build his championship ..if he doesn't tangle with a nakagami and baldasarri (in Italy?) out to prove themselves in first laps..

Weather is dismal here and Mugello which is so on my bucket list (but sadly I won't get to while 46 still racing ) looks glorious in sunshine ..... Envious but don't mind crappy weather this week as nothing planned and 3 great races ahead....

Your guess...as they say, see 19 May: 2017 MotoGP rider line-up so far.

    Sunday Edit: Moto3...what a race...what a finish!

Sunday Edit 2: Moto2...what a FU! Then a good race and another finish that wasn't an entirely forgone conclusion. Well done Sam...I think he got the best out of those tyres.

Sunday Edit 3: MotoGP lap 8...Ohh, b...ks. That was shaping up for an exciting last couple of laps. It may still...here's hoping.

Sunday Edit 4: Lap 15...duelling Ducatis anyone?

Sunday Edit 5: Terrific start from Lorenzo...a metronomic race...and a magnificent finish. Add two Hondas to the mix and it was still a race to watch. With a classic last lap...

    Great last few laps :)

Gutted for Rossi and a little disappointed for Jorge and Marc that their titanic last lap scrap will be overlooked. I still can't believe Yam lost two engines today. Amazing.

I do wonder if Rossi over revved on Saturday after securing pole? Although I'm sure data and oil contaminate tests would have shown after. Just bad luck.

Also a shame Ianone didn't get it off the line.

Brilliant races... Moto 2 fab but disappointed with result... what a foul up... Sam robbed of certain victory there but great points haul at least for championship...

And sadly....we were robbed of a an epic race rather than the great one we got when 46 went out... Shame ....

And that Mr Alonso is what F1 needs to be like to become watchable again... Hope you let Bernie know at the Cote Dazure parade... I mean Monaco ....
(Sorry forgot Bernie thinks you don't need overtaking to make racing exciting)

  30. #130
Excellent racing in all 3 classes.

Lowes robbed by the red flag.

Bummer that Rossi went out, but fantastic ride from Marquez and amazing finish by Lorenzo.

It was nice to see Zarco prove that he can truly scrap for a position rather than carefully calculate a race strategy. Although he is not highly marketable as a rider, I think his style would suit MotoGP well. On vera.

Shame Rossis bike went pop, seemed quite comfortable with the pace. Epic last couple laps as it was another rider in there would have been great to see and would have kept the championship close as well
Can't believe two yamahas went bang over the weekend, been a long time since that's happend. Hopefully not a issue going forward, no one likes to see a championship decide by reliability issues.

I have just had an email confirming my itinerary for this weekends race in Barcelona. We arrive nice and early on Friday so have booked a hire car and will head straight to the circuit to enjoy the pit access. Then into Barcelona. The rest of the weekend will be spent at the track enjoying the racing. Hopefully it will be as good as last week.

  35. #135
It should be fantastic - the Spanish now how to put on a race!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend. We usually get a couple of races in each year - haven't decided on this year year, but I'd love to get down to Melbourne :)

Currently planning our itinerary for the weekend. Leaving from Edinburgh at an unearthly early hour, but flip side is, early into Barcelona. First trip to a MotoGP. Myself and my son looking forward to it immensely. Bring it on.

Bad news brewing, maybe very sad, in Moto2. Luis Salom is off to hospital by helicopter after an accident in FP2.

Edit: Session cancelled with 25 mins left. They are using the ambulance rather than the helicopter. Fingers crossed...
