    Thanks, yes a PRS-10 would probably be nice.... but think I'd like to stay below 50 quid, given his propensity to lose things :-) I'll check out the Timex originals....

    If they take it off for swimming you could get cwc g10. Apart from that, I've seen some decent looking pulsars in the local jewellers window at around fifty quid, some of them might be a bit large for a nine year old though. Did you see the timex indiglo on SC for fifteen quid? Looks ideal
