    Stroopwafels 2.0... Warning: explicit picture...

About this forum's finest food... the stroopwafel. There's a great thread about them on the forum.

But... last Wednesday evening, I took my son to the Dutch Youth Regatta: a 4 day venue with 700+ sailors from 23 countries competing for the Open Dutch Championship. And guess what I saw...

    A Stroopwafel market stall!

Totally dedicated to the Dutch Finest Food Group!

The most explicit picture must be this one:

The small stroopwafel in the background is the normal sized wafel you find in every package or tin. These mega wafels are more or less common overhere; I've written about them before, but never found the time to take a pic of these jumbo sized stroopwafels!

Holy sh1t. Look at those beasts.

You would need a bucket of coffee to warm them over....

They're great, but so viciously sweet I don't treat myself too often.

^ Those Sainsbury's ones are a hidden gem, bargain compared to the branded ones at 3x the price

And they are the real deal. Imported from Holland. I have one in my bag now to eat with my next coffee 😁

They've just started selling stroopwafels in lidl. Perhaps we'll start seeing combined wafel and watch box threads.

Which is it? More, or less?
Never mind that, they're 'king burnt!

The Lidl variants are fab, but I picked up a pack of 'minis' in M&S the other night and they seem even tastier!

The smell of a stroopwafel stall preparing fresh ones is to die for. You literally can smell it a block away.

Seriously these things should be a class A drug, more addictive than nicotine or heroin. I have to get me to the Netherlands to try the real thing. Anywhere in England get close?

Hehehe - I've taken this for granted over all the years I've lived in NL. Yes the jumbos are good - but thankfully I've never been THAT addicted to stroopwafels!
