8 month old Isofrane splitting - normal?!

I just noticed today that my 8 month old Isofrane has split around the strap hole I mainly use and also the one next to it. It's probably been used for about 4 days per week over the last 8 months and has not been abused. It's still under warranty so I've contacted Isofrane who have yet to reply.

Is this a known problem with these straps? This was my first and I was planning on buying another one soon but might think again if they're prone to splitting!

I haven't owned one for more than a few months, so I can't comment on longevity.

I'd be surprised if they didn't send you a free replacement after sending an email to their customer services.

Never heard it before, and I have quite a few friends with Isofranes. Contact the manufacturer and I'm sure you will receive a replacement.

    Seconded.
Drop them a mail, their CS is top notch IME.

Have 15-ish Isos and have never experienced this issue, have worn many for a long time.
Guess if a tang is for some reason slightly over spec in size it could cause tear over time?

Sorry to dig up an old thread...

But I'm now having the same issue with my 6 month old Isofrane! Its started to split around the 2 holes I use. Did the OP ever get this sorted? I've emailed Isofrane, just waiting on a response from them.

I'll be interested to see the outcome of this as I've just bought a Dreadnought Voyager and plan on fitting an Isofrane.

I have the orange one and it's fine so far but doesn't get used that often. It's not that old yet though either. I wonder if colours have anything to do with it, or it was just a bad batch?

I will keep an eye out here just in case I need evidence.

Who are you trying to contact, is it customer services on their website?

Can you go back to the company you bought it from? I will have to try and find my warranty card and check the small print.

I hope they sort this out for you.

I'm trying to contact Isofrane directly using the email address for customer service from their website and the inquiry form on the website. I did get a reply to my 2nd email from someone called Ben saying he had replied to my first email and asking me to confirm receiving that message. I did that almost immediately two days ago and have heard nothing since...

Thanks for the update. Not particularly good service, makes you wonder....
I hope they (or Ben) gets back to you soon.

Well, I've now given up hope of getting any kind of meaningful customer service from Isofrane and have now contacted Watch Obsession, who I bought the strap from. Fingers crossed that they're a bit more helpful.

That's more like it! Reply from Watch Obsession in under an hour asking me to return the strap for replacement.

Isofrane, please take note. THAT is how customer service is supposed to work.

I'm glad they sorted you out Chewy. I think that's where mine came from to.

Good to know someone has got you covered.

Do you think it's worth noting colours just in case it is one in particular?

Mine is black, but I don't know if it makes much difference.

It was just a thought, maybe compounds are different between colours? We will have to wait and see for the next failures (if any).
