I'm a bugger for lurking and not contributing. Recently I took the plunge on a new Speedmaster Professional "Tin Tin" from Chronext. To say I'm smitten is an understatement.

Look what the cat dragged in...

A nice sturdy box from the eBay dealer, who is clearly a cat lover.

Just arrived courtesy of Onelasttime - Tutima 1941.

I was worried about this - 38.7mm is not a big watch, in objective terms, but it looks pretty cool on the wrist ...

Nice on the Pav cordovan as well.

Bit of a Franken as the dial is not original to the watch (standard sapphire sandwich) but this has certainly stopped my craving for a white dial ceramic Daytona!

This is such a beautiful "mod" I am thinking of doing the same to my FOIS! Where did you get the dial from if I may ask?

Gerlach 'Seikosha Tokkotai', a replica of the WWII Seikosha Divine wind Kamikaze pilots watch.

Tokkatai means to leave, and never return in Japanese.

The watch contains a Seiko NH35 auto, hackable movement. These were made for the Spanish 'Para Club Okies Seiko' in a limited edition of 150 . Mine is 36/150.

I've got this on my way to me, I'm buying it on behalf of a friend who asked me to find a vintage watch with interesting numerals. I'll get to spend a couple of days with it, checking that all is well

This just arrived this morning - bought it on behalf of a friend. He's borrowing an old sixties Soviet watch of mine, this will replace that on his wrist and be his only watch. I'm rather jealous of him!

Think he's intending to wear it on this strap:

Tisell arrived today - $155 worth of Korean fine watchmaking. Felt the need for some rose gold and roman numerals in the collection.

I really like the layout and at this price point I'm pleasantly surprised at the build quality. It has a display back with blue screws, jewels and geneva stripes on the back plates. Handwinding, so not rotor to get in the way, still the movement and watch are quite thick.

I'm not at all good on history of digitals, but I'm guessing that must have been cutting edge in its day? Particularly the LCD screen?

Picked up a couple of days ago from Al.

Was worried that the chunky 45.4mm case might be a bit big for my 7" wrist, but it wears smaller than you might think

    But it's still a beast!

  37. #1387
I've wanted one of these for a while now, finally got one today.

  38. #1388
I picked this one up from David Duggan's on Monday.

Freshly serviced and lightly polished by Patek Philippe UK :)

Yesterday was my tenth wedding anniversary, and there was a small box from Mrs Wolff for me..

Blown away, speechless. I couldn't eat my brecky!
A full set 1991 14060 from a reputable dealer in Norwich (who you probably all know).

To say I'm pleased might be understating it a bit.

So you finally made a decision then?

I would have loved a vintage piece such as a 2525 or 2526 but my concerns with buying and servicing costs sadly far out weighed the beauty of them.
And this freshly serviced, exactly the preferred choice of metal and just within budget was an opportunity not to be missed

Well, just come back from AD with my new watch. I was on the waiting list for a BLNR and/or a Hulk but given the Great British public have decided to flush the toilet I've decided to pull the trigger so to speak, on this...

I'd like to take some better pictures and a few more of my collecting leading up to this (Some Seikos and Orients). Here's hoping to a huge price hike on Monday, then! As suggested by my AD, one is imminent but of course the phrase pinch of salt can be applied here.

Recently back from the AD with this. You might say a boring and predictable choice but I'm utterly smitten with it.

Hope this is ok to ask here as it does relate to a new arrival!Just noticed that my brand new UK AD supplied SubC Date didn't come with the bezel protector. Not an issue, clearly been left off in the shop but I will be asking for it to make the full set. Should there also be a polishing cloth supplied as I didn't get one of those either.
