    Speedbird 3 prototype

Only received the case and bracelet, dial hands and crystal still not ready. I'm particularly impressed with the fit of the custom endpieces. The tube for the screw down crown is a threaded tube into the case, not friction fit.

Holy man! That looks amazing. The bracelet has a nice "Lumpy" look to it and appears to be quite high quality. Is that a Precista "P" engraved on the crown or something different?

Oh! That looks promising! Although I am a NATO-fanatic the end-links-fitting looks perfect!

    Same here!

Usually I like chrono's etc, but I think this one's even better looking than the Seagull based chrono!

    I'm very interested!

    Looking good 8)

The end pieces do look nice, so many watches are "nearly there" - IWC leaps to mind - and it does jar when they don't quite fit.

Roll on full production, really want one of these.

I was also looking to use this watch on a strap but the bracelet looks terrific. Love the details on the end-pieces. I love the bracelet and its construction, fullstop.

What size is the case, please?

Wow. Got to love that bracelet. :)

    Will it be available separately?

Will it fit the original Speedbird?

I don't recall seeing brushing in that direction before - it normally runs along the case, rather than down?

Edit: or is that just the pre-production finish?

    Is there a list?

Edit 2: the list comment is a joke, and not intended to be the start of a new "list"

Love the case design and that bracelet is just superb. I have a Tissot and a Revue with vertical case brushing and I have to say I am not keen on it. I think horizontal would suit the watch far better.

The PRS-17-C also has vertical brushing (on the sides) ... and it looks good for it.

This guy who goes by the name of Platts..... He's a pro at separating WIS from their money. :D These new watches are deadly to the weak of mind and soon to be weak of wallet.

That SBIII looks to be a potential IWC slayer.

    That bracelet is beautiful. :D

One suggestion though, the case might look better if the brushing followed the long axis from lug to lug rather than top to bottom...

    Eddie,

am asking risking a simple "NO", but have you yet decided if there will be the possibility to order the SB3 just
with a NATO-strap instead of the clearly fabulous bracelet or the alternative leather strap?

    Promising. Very.

This one will sink or swim on the dial and hands but there is no reason to suspect they'll be anything other than very damn good.

Looks like it has been decided on, but I'd vote for drilled lugs too especially with tight fitting end pieces.

One other little thing - I'd also consider, as per Ming, making the case side graining go along the side rather than vertical.

But, if you are sticking to vertical, then can I suggest that the brushing on the sides of the bracelet is also vertical? Just looks better if both go the same way when a hefty bracelet is involved.

I think most members of TZ-UK are aware that I am hardly a bracelet fan, but that one looks really nice! :D

That's a point. I think I was a bit seduced by the bracelet's chunky charms. If there was a choice, I would go for leather. If the bracelet was part of the package, I would have a hard time dispensing with it. There should be a choice.

Solve that problem by wearing it the way it is now.

I'm a little confused about the brewing bracelet v.s. strap controversy. The bracelet, after all, is not welded in place.

  48. #48

    Braclet: Good!

I am normally prefer a strap, but this bracelet is one of the few that I really like. An excellent choice, I feel. My favorite type of deployment as well.

Looks like I'll be selling off some watches to make way for the III.
