Anyone still got their first watch?

I was clearing out my old room and came across these two. I don't remember which was the very first, I think I got them one after another in quick succession about 28 years ago...

Looks like I took care of my watches back then too. I still have the box for the Ellesse!! #WISyoutz

Had this one over 50 years, had it serviced twice and it still works well.

Still got mine, but it eats batteries (in a week or so) and I can't get any spares for it :(

As you can see it got used for its intended purpose - the massive scrape across the crystal came from a trapeze wire on a Laser II.

I don't have my first watch as it was one of those teach you to tell the time things with Mickey Mouse on the dial, not entirely sure where that went.

But i do still have my first 'proper' watch that I purchased in 1994 and still wear it every day for work, a TAG 4000 series Quartz

Still got mine...from when I was 5. Being a ladies Swatch watch with 25mm diameter, don't think I'll be wearing it!

Had the very same Ellesse watch but with the yellow/ creamy dial. Think I binned it rather than buy the expensive sharkskin replacement strap. Being all nostalgic, regret doing that somewhat.

Yep, the sharkskin strap on mine is a replacement and I remember it was a lot of money back at the time.

Yep....I was given this by my grandma (now dead) and my grandad (100 in September) for my 7th birthday,so it's 38 years old. Still winds and keeps time although I keep meaning to get it serviced and cleaned up.

I wish I did, I've searched high and low, having carted it up until uni with me, sadly lost or in landfill somewhere.

So I have the best thing, which is a near mint one after for years of searching.

First was a Swatch - sadly don't know where that is. Second many years later was a Seiko Monster - still have that somewhere!

Anyone still got their first watch?

Mine is not in the best condition, I continued to wear it when I started work in the building trade but eventual it stopped running.

Not first ever, but I still have the Seiko Sports 100 I saved up for an got when I was about 14.

It hasn't worked for years though.

One of my first 'proper' watches of the day (in so much that it didnt have Mickey Mouse hands on it)

Must be 25+ years ago. Found it in a box a few months back and after a bit of a clean up and a new battery its running again thanks to the instructions still floating around on Google.
    Everything works bar the alarm.

I've still got my first proper watch, a Tag Heuer F1 from 1996, a 17th Birthday present from my Mum and Dad. Don't even have a picture of it as it was put back in its box about 5 years later when its replacement was procured and hasn't seen light of day since, shame really.

I still have my Seiko from 1973 (I was 13) and my Omega Cosmic 2000 from 78 - which has never been serviced (and I still have box and papers :))

Anyone still got their first watch?

This is mine, my mum still had mine and my sisters. The battery had leaked so no idea if it will still work, the strap definitely won't fit my wrist now though!

    ^thats fantastic
i don't have mine anymore but it was a swatch with a clear strap and a holographic dial that looked like one of those windmills that the elderly used to put in flower pots.

First proper watch was a seiko kinetic arctura in the 90s that my mother got me from HK airport. Sadly the rubber bracelet under the steel links snapped and the capacitor went kaput. Wish I'd kept and repaired it.

I still have the actual watch - a child's tv promo watch for an American series from the 50s called "Zorro". My dad found it in the back of a jewelry box a few years back and passed it along to me. My first proper watch came six years later in 1969. That was a Timex Skindiver. I lost it somewhere years ago, but found a replacement through a nice British chap. I suspect that I was bitten by the dive watch bug very early on.

My first one was Marvin cal. 700. It was father's watch who gave it me when he bought Omega.
I put it on my hand from time to time and it keeps perfect time.
Can't post any pics right now.

I still have my Casio Waveceptor which was my first watch I bought with my own money what must be 15 or so years back.

I still have my first more 'serious' watch which I bought around 10 years ago, which is my Swatch Oscillation Auto, although I don't wear it often these days.

Here is my first watch I bought back in 1980 when in the Navy. Got it at the ships store in Guam for a long while it was the only watch I owned used it the whole 22 years in the US Navy. Then I got this bad addiction with watches so not the only watch I own today. Did have IWW do some work on it was beat to hell.

    On the wrist around 1989.

No, most of my earlier watches were not worth keeping. But I do have an old Zeitner Commando that I bought sometime in the 1990's, about 1992 or 3 I think. I've also got my 1st "decent" watch, a 2000 Omega SMP Mid Sized Auto.

If you mean the first watch I personally purchased, then yes.

A seiko pogue that I've just had serviced and cleaned by the fantastic duncan (Cannop).

A cracking good looking gold/yellow faced variant.

Yep! Found it in the back of a drawer a few weeks back. I need to get the crystal replaced and a new battery but otherwise fine!
