Simple, which one you like more? They are not something you will break a bank with. I have gold one but I like the vintage vibe and it's more dressy casual.
Gold accents looks bit plain during the day, but glorious in the morning and evenings
I've been looking at the reissue Turtles for some time now. Bu cannot decide which one to choose. The two I'm looking at are the SRP775 with the gold hands, or the SRP 779 with the Pepsi bezel.
I have a few watches with pepsi bezels, so I know I like 'm - On the other hand... you could say: "Another pepsi?"
I have no experience with gold accented Seikos. But that's what I like about this one: something different.
I am looking for real life experiences, do's and don'ts.

When in doubt, ask your missus It usually ends with conservative option, but she often knows better than me what suits me best
I know this was not on your option but COKE for me.
I'm out-enamoured with faux-gold.
My Pepsi is the PADI, but I like both

Wanted - Damasko DC57
If I got one it would be the gold hand one.
I went for the 775, worn it solidly for about a month which is quite rare for me. Very happy with it.
Really like the pepsi too, so that's not much help. Buy both !
Both are great, I have the PADI and this which I just can't stop wearing.
Got this black insert, couldn't wait for better light so it's a rubbish photo, but yay or nay?
I think that looks great, gives it a nice vintage feel....
I have the gold version but mostly because I have a Seiko 009 and also because it comes with a bracelet a decent rubber strap can be bought for about £25.
Go with what you prefer but I do think the gold is the better option in this watch, one thing to mention though is the bracelet makes it feel quite heavy.
I have handled both the gold and the "plain" silver/white versions (not pepsi). I would not criticize the gold, but I don't think it is quite as nice as it looks in photos; and the plain one is nicer than the photos IMHO.
Something about the plain colour scheme just seems right for this watch, and I ended up buying it.
The gold is a good choice if you don't like the way seiko crowds the dial with text. And also it is more unusual than the silver /black /white combination.
The rubber strap is really nice, but very long. It has a very nice 20mm buckle - slightly fishtail shape but rounded off, chunky, nicely curved. I put this on a Neptune Straps (etsy) Horween strap and it's a great combination. Glad I didn't buy a bracelet version as I would not have used it.

On accuracy: I can wear mine all week and it is within 10-15 seconds at the end.
I also have a Sumo and one of the new Baby Tuna (aka shrouded monster) and they are nearly as accurate.
The bezel, chapter ring and hour hand alignment are a bit of a lottery though! Turtle has hour hand a wee bit off, Sumo the bezel and chapter ring both off a tiny bit. Baby Tuna perfect.
I think these QC things are all pot luck, don't believe any prospex model is inherently better.

I'd go for the gold, but I've wanted to see the black bezel on the gold version and maybe swap the gold bezel to the black, so I think the pic by caye031 looks great. Would prefer a non AM insert, though but it still looks really good.
The Pepsi is really nice and the PADI looks great.
I still prefer the original over them but I love these two.
I have a PADI on order, so I guess my preference is clear....

Anybody seen these in the high street in the UK?
I'd be interested to see the gold one in the flesh so to speak.....

No point getting another Pepsi if you've already got others with that bezel, as you'll risk not wearing it. Gold and black for me looks more understated with a touch of class.
Spotted in Ernest Jones in St Ann's shopping centre in Harrow earlier...Just the SRP775. No other variant. Looks like the 'K' version.
Here's my 'J' version. As you can see it has the additional 'Made in Japan' text at the bottom of the dial.

Not usually a fan of the case shape but a work mate was wearing a new Padi last night, looked good.
I was going for the gold, but when I saw it I was a little let down, so went for the black classic version on rubber
