    A nice little dilemma

Hi all! In case you guys don't go to that other place, I'm looking to get a reasonably priced "pilot's" chrono with a day&date window & a crystal back and I like the looks of these two models. Unfortunately, I can only get one of them. So, it's between the Fortis B-42 PILOT PROFESSIONAL
CHRONOGRAPH - http://www.fortis-watch.com/imgs/collec ... 8_2007.jpg and the Sinn 103 A Sa - http://www.chronomaster.co.uk/B129_Sinn_103_st_c.JPG . So, which do you guys think is the one to get? Thanks!

If the B-42 had the seconds increments on the seconds subdial, then no question the Fortis, so I voted for the Sinn, not out of derision, rather as this is an exceptionally useful feature for a chrono, imho for splits and comparison timings-and looks better, imho too :)

I like the styling of the Fortis quite a bit more.

    Best wishes and good luck,
    AP. :)

The Fortis is very nice, but the Sinn really looks the part :) Also...I don't care for the screwed-in type bars, which are found in the Fortis.

Eenjoy whichever one you end up with.

Hi Gert. May I know why you don't quite care for the screwed bars? I like to think it would make strap changes easier, at least you'd not scratch the lugs much as I do with fork tools.

This time I really like the Fortis better. But please do not ask me why

Perhaps I've seen that 103 far too often now.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

Absolutely no doubt about it, the Sinn is the better looking watch IMO. The Fortis is nice, but the Sinn is beautiful

    Nice choice to have :)

Both nice watches - but the Fortis list price is way higher than the Sinn. (£1200 vs £800 in the UK). That may be a factor.

I prefer the Fortis - but be aware that it is a very big, heavy watch. I had a B42 Flieger Chrono and found I couldn't live with it myself. That is an expensive version of the Sinn 103. You can get a very good one for a lot less, which says something about Sinn and Fortis pricing strategy. Sinn hold their value better too.

Oddly my gut feeling is toward the Fortis - probably because of the strap and lack of bezel. But I really like rotating bezels and bracelets - doesn't make sense does it

Sinn. But if it was me I'd have a 356.

I'm a real Fortis fan so I would plump for the Fortis

Don't forget its not what anyone else thinks that counts its you that will by buying and wearing the watch

What size wrist have you got

the B-42 is 42mm and fills the lasgest of wrists but the Sinn is only 40mm and looks quite small on the wrist

    Both are nice watches

    Go for the Fortis

Well IMO the Sinn is more fancy looking and the Fortis is more military looking. So I guess it depends on your tastes.

BTW - I like the hands on the 203 better than the 103.

I would have to say the Sinn - but then again, I just saw a "Corvette" LE Sinn, which takes them down a couple notches in my book.

I like both brands but in this case i like the fortis better.

The only issue that had always stopped me is the price, which is a little too much considering what you can get if you go the way of Sinn

Thank you all for the comments and advise. To clear a few points, the prices of both are the same in my country; I much prefer a sapphire crystal front already fitted & the 356 is more than I'm allowed to spend by the power that be  . Would the Fortis be a lot thicker & heavier than the Sinn? Btw my wrist size is about 7.7". Thank you all!

I really wonder why the 103 outperforms the Fortis so much in here.

They have nice and clean designs, good specs, lots of heritage. And they can be had really cheap second hand...

    I'd go for the Sinn.
But I'm not alone in that  .

    Good luck with the choice.

    Both excellent watches :)

I'd go for the Fortis, mainly because of the hands & no black bezel
