3 of a kind (GS content)

These 3 amigos - almost peas in a pod, and my 20 quid light box posed this evening for me.

Excellent, I particularly like Grand Seiko with a leather strap, it transformed the look of my spring-drive sbgx109. When I bought one, it was as a 'curiosity' item really. But it has turned into my most worn watch, a wonderful watch.
People are perhaps a bit nervous because you don't get the Rolex ultra low depreciation. But these are watches to keep and cherish. I still enjoy my Rolex, but the spring drive just feels in a higher class. The Quartz are great too, probably the best on the market. For a 'one watch' guy, these are ideal.tough, good looking, utterly reliable.
Shame the marketing lets them down.

    Cool picture !

Looks really nice on a leather strap, i had previously looked into maybe buying a GS but the mixed reviews put me off. Having said that i have read nothing but good things about them since joining this forum.

The dial on the watch on the bottom right is exquisite, looks like linen or parchment. I'd prefer it without the power reserve indicator though. Would love to see one in the flesh...

The watch you refer to is known as the 'snowflake' but I think you would be fortunate to see one in the UK. I was in an AD at the weekend and was told they have a list of interested people and they tend to be in the shop for only days at a time.

I am interested in which model the one on the top is please.

That's the SBGR061 and would be the perfect watch, except it is a tad too thick. Shame because it is a stunning made watch and best value for money out there

I think you get an idea there of just how well a leather strap works with a GS. It is a natural combination .

The big question is what technology do you fancy? GS offer four different 'engines', including Quartz and spring drive. There's a case for saying that spring drive is the most interesting. They feel very mechanical, but have incredible precision. I have come to prefer spring drive to my Rolex, which I never expected.
