    ATG Marine Strap 2

After seeing one of these on a Bill Yao watch on yesterdays sales corner, I now have a terrible urge to splash out but the price is on the high side. Does anyone here have one? and would they recommend it for everyday use. I wouldn,t like to pay all that money and have it fall to pieces a year or two down the line.

FWIW I've handled some of the ATG range and can say that they are extremely well made and using quality materials IMO.

Very unlikely to be 'falling to pieces in a year or two's time'.

Hi Ron, Vic Boyd from NY posted some pics of his PRS50 with one of Alistair's straps (from ATG Vintage Watches) over on another forum.

I think its a great match.

    £75 and worth it!

Just took one of the Yao and IMO i wish i could get so much for so little  totally overpriced.

The build quality is at best adequate but the buckle has a decent feel to it.

    Just my 2p/c

Oh Dear, it looks like my original comment was right after all!! - it does seem it WILL fall to bits less than a couple of years down the line. Thanks for the up to date pics by the way.

    Re: ATG Straps

This string was just sent over to me.

The strap in the pictures is not actually an ATG production strap.

It is a first design version sample from when I was originally making the straps. If you notice the keeper is not sewn down and they do not match each other. This strap was added 'as a favour' to the Stingray when I originally sold it to the guy Martin bought it from......

The level of quality has not been sold by me as an ATG Diver 3 strap.

I just thought I would let you know.

    regards

    Alistair

    Re: ATG Marine Strap 2

    Further to Sanjay's post...

Sanjay contacted me as there was a stitching issue with both one of my marine straps and one of my racing straps. I replaced both straps immediately.

Never happened with the racing straps before but happened a couple of times with the Marine strap so I have changed manufacturers for that strap.

I just thought I would be clear. :|
