Very nice Paul, love the dial!!!
Mike
I picked up two watches this week from my German collector friend...
The first one is this new-old-stock Zenith Electronic with a standard ESA 9162 tuning fork movement --- same as used in the Omega f300, Tissot Tissonic, IWC Electronic, Titus Tuning Fork, Longines Ultronic etc etc. I wouldn't normally buy yet another watch with one of these movements; I already have far too many.
But I bought this one solely for the condition of the watch AND that dial! The centre part of the dial has a stardust disc and it twinkles in much the same way as the well-known Omega f2.4MHz "Stardust" Constellation....but whereas I'm very familiar with the Omega, I've never come across any other electric / electronic watch with a Stardust feature....anyone seen one of these Zeniths before? The Stardust disc is not marked or cracked in any way.
Being a Stardust dial, it is a little tricky to photograph:
Love the Zenith bracelet!
And a short video to show the twinkle:

Looks beautiful.
Hi Paul,
Do you have any more details on the Zenith? ie model name, number etc?
(I would like one!)
Cheers!
So clever my foot fell off.
Absolutely gorgeous mate! Can't believe the condition. Glad to see its in good hands.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Wow that really is a beaut! Video shows off the stardust sparkles well!
That is absolutely gorgeous mate. Not seen one before - a really nice find.
Wow!
I have a mint Omega F300 but your Zenith knocks it into a cocked hat. And that bracelet is brilliant.
Jealous of Nottingham.
Nice photos and the watch itself.
Have you tried circular polariser?
I’ll echo the compliments. In addition to the dial though I really like the batons too.
What would be a ball-park figure for these nowadays?

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
I love hummers, and that is one of the nicest I've seen Paul. It's a new one on me so thanks very much for sharing.
Thanks for comments guys.
The only numbers, codes etc I can find are those on the label on bracelet clasp and "01 0050 500" on the outside of the case back. There are none on the inside of the case back. Since the Zenith calibre number for the ESA 9162 movement is "50.0", I'm not sure how useful those case back numbers are....
I love posts like this, and wish there were more of them.
Thanks Silver Hawk, very much.
I love it when someone points out something lovely, off the wall, and rare.
Especially if it is dome in a well-informed manner and with good photography. Bravo. Videos even. Luxury.
And a great watch, one I will look out for.
Dave
ps - that number bears all the hallmarks of a Zenith model number........
That's a beauty Paul, I've never seen one of those before.
I'm not surprised though as Zenith during that period make some very small editions.
Cheers,
Neil.

That's a belting catch, i like you share a passion for early quartz and electronic watches and as you know stardusts are my thing, I heard rumour that AP produced a stardust variation of their mq 2.4 (of which I have only ever seen two examples of the waffle as apparently they only made 100 2.4's) but I've never seen a tuning fork one! A great catch and well done
these tuning fork movts are made by bulova and later rebranded by their respective watch co right?
I only had a hummer from Certina and its a nice watch but then it didn't keep time well later in the stage when I own it and replacements movement seems rather unstable too so gave it up.
Nearly 3 years later....and I've just managed to snag these two from Italy....clearly closely related to my Zenith Electronic Stardust above.
Wish I could find out more about all three...time to post on the Zenith FB page I think....
The green dial is clearly a Malachite disc, but the blue one is harder to identify...Sodalite?
They're both lovely, and very unusual. Still prefer the Stardust one, though!

That 70's style was so ridiculed in the "cool" 1980's and now it is far more enduringly futuristic than so much industrial design that came out in that decade. Love the stardust especially though.
... And lovely it is too!
Gorgeous watches SilverHawk and NOS with it? You jammy so and so… Well may you wear.
What a wonderful trio of NOS Zenith... they look great!
The green dial is absolutely gorgeous- but if I had to choose it would be the one in the video.
I really like all three of those. I think cut stone (or meteorite) adds a real depth and texture to dials.
I wish omega had done a 'stardust' dial in a smaller cased f300 watch. I will have to look out for one of those zenith's as it looks to share a case with one of the integrated bracelet constellations.
Three absolute stunners there, nice to see something really unusual and quite rare. I think the meteorite dial is the pick of the bunch but prefer the case shape of the two you've just picked up.
Would be interested to find out a bit more about these if you manage to find any additional info from Zenith etc.
Actually a very nice watch - great catch
regards
