I hope anyone who took a punt on the Wirra Wirra enjoys it. I got 12 bottles delivered on Wednesday.

Given the heavy schedule for tomorrow and Boxing Day I am having a few beers tonight - currently enjoying a bottle of Old Peculier.

    Happy drinking guys.

An assorted selection of Cru Bugeois and Classés, an odd bottle of Domaines Ott Rosé, Perrier Jouët, Grande Année 2005 and Seleccion de Maestros to polish it off.... having said that, I won't be touching any of that as it will be a dry Christmas for me

Only the two of us for Christmas Day, as the children and grandchildren are not visiting until Boxing Day (and will likely stay for 3-4 nights), so we will make the most of it. DP 1999 with canapés and starter and a 1995 La Rioja Alta 904 with the Venison.

Expect you'll need something to drink after that.

We'll have some bubbly too, though not in your league. I think I've a bottle of Moet Rose somewhere that needs to be drunk. Then we'll probably have a bottle of reasonable Pauillac.

I bought the Rioja in 2008 and I think the DP at a similar time - my days of spending serious money on wine seem a distant memory.

All prepared and ready to go. A bottle of 2009 Domaine DE Chevalier and a 2008 Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz and this year I am trying a Penfolds Father - a 10 year old Grand Tawny. Not allowed to call it Port, but more of a fortified wine. Both wines have been double decanted and will be good to go in an hour or so.
A nice cup of coffee needed first.

Had Lamb shank for dinner last night, accompanied by a cracking 2002 Chateau Haut Brion. Turkey lunch out today, so will be having something a bit less extravagant.

Aunt Sally is just recovering from a 1980 'Table Basse en Verre' from Château Vermie.

Dom de Chevalier is, for me the most underrated and best value wine in Bordeaux! Bravo!
