Evening all.
Over the last few months, I have been slowly trying to build up a selection of Seiko watches. Since joining this place I have gone full circle (from skx007 to Rolex and back!) and to be honest I would probably never owned a Seiko, if it wasn't for the advice of the forum.
So, I am looking for a little direction in terms of what's next? Open to modern or vintage (probably more weighted vintage) but what do you think?
Here's my more vintage collection.
6306 7001 (1976) 6139 6002 (1977), a silver dial resist 6139 6002 (1973) and a 6015 8110 (1974 I think).
Modern Seiko
Mm300 & a PADI

I was thinking a vintage Seiko dress watch. Apart from the cheap Seiko 5 stuff, there is Lord Marvel, King Seiko and Grand Seiko.
A Sumo, shogun, Samurai, Brightz and finally a GS Snowflake.
Some good suggestions there.
Definitely fancy a GS and really like the picture of the Sumo Binsull posted last night.
That Brightz is interesting? Not seen that before. Similar to a 6138 panda.
A Bellmatic, for something completely different?
What about an early Bellmatic?
The first ones with the date only complication and sunburst dials are really nice. Interesting having an alarm feature on an automatic watch too.
The grey sunburst is a really nice dial but I've only seen pictures of one in an article, not even seen another on scwf.
Pics off google images
A Bullhead would definitely be on my list.
Monaco, seahorse, bullhead?
Bit more modern sumo and spork?
A 6117 world timer?

The quartz chrono - 7A28 or, for much more variety, 7A38
Cheers guys. Some good ideas for me there.
A Kakume one of their best looking 70's Chrono's and if you've got the bucks a 6105!
If you're up for a challenge (hardto find and expensive) the most beautiful IMO with its gilt detail and crown at 4 is the 6159-7001...
a nice example below, along with other ideas....

Actually your one below on the left looks really nice and seems 6159-inspired....

You need a vintage Grand Seiko or King Seiko. That would a nice balance in my opinion.
An interesting selection here although a little low on GS:

Get a SARX029 or SARD011. Nice dress watches.
King Seiko, Grand Seiko, Credor, 6217-8000
Loads for me to go at there. Thanks to all. Will definitely look to pick a dress watch of some description up.
I'd look into the Grand Seikos. For me, the historical collection is amazing along with some of their more dressy options. So many nice ones and love the history too.
Think my ultimate GS as a collector is the 3180, the first GS.
Awesome,
Group shot of all three please if you pick one up. I had two myself, sorry I ever sold them.
Another option, not rare but getting harder to find in good condition is a 60's handwind 6602. Another sale of mine that I regretted as I got out of vintage Seiko's. The vintage Seiko bug can be fairly contagious with a ton out there especially in dress watches.
This is a 6602-8050
This one is sad but a 6138 panda is very collectable if you can find a good one. This ended up as part of a deal for the two 6139's
Modern collectable would be a spork, SRP043K the bracelet on these was one of Seiko's best.
UFO in nickname but instantly identifiable when seen.

You might consider these :- 6139-7100 (Helmet/Vader). 5856-8060 (King Quartz) has a lovely faceted crystal. As mentioned before a 6138-0040 (Bullhead) preferably with its' original "Fishbone" bracelet.
All lovely watches to wear.
This thread really reinforces what great watches and innovation Seiko have made and continue to make. If I were the OP I would look at one of the new Blue Lagoon Turtle or Samurai in the first instance:

Ultimately though some of the GS models, at used prices, seem like the ones to have.
