    Watchfinder in Canary Wharf?

Was in town last night and noticed that watchfinder have a store in Canary Wharf now, I've done a quick search on here and couldn't find any threads about it so can only assume its new?

I had guests in tow so couldn't check it out but I guess this info could be of use to some.

Walked in yesterday afternoon, quick gander at the displays in front of shop (Rolex, IWC, Panerai) and walked out again as was with GF and we were in a bit of a rush.
    They have plenty of stock.
It's a second hand bling watch shop, not much more to say!?
A Royal Oak, Richard Mille and hublot in the window so top end as well as 'mid range'.

It opened couple of months ago, always seems quite busy

    Watchfinder in Canary Wharf?

Yes opened a couple of months ago, they have a good selection of very high end watches. I though they looked quite expensive but did have some limited editions

I was in there last week. Some nice watches but they're pushing their luck with the prices. I guess it gives them room to subsequently offer you a discount.

It's fairly standard practice for them to offer low end pricing for buying stock in, but asking over the odds to the new buyer.

Can almost work out exactly what their margins are though, so potentially some room to haggle!

They are happy for you to browse, will size you up before letting you try, and will redirect you to Royal Exchange if you want to do P-Ex.
Asked about a valuation on a couple of pieces to be told "Oh, we'll send them away for a check first, might take a couple of weeks" was surprised when I asked if they would be fully insured as she thought my household insurance would cover it, I politely declined.

    Isn't that called 'business'?

    Great insight.

You are right of course but I do find that some of their offers border on the insulting. As a result I no longer bother with them and go elsewhere, so perhaps not good long term business

Yes it is business, but have to agree with atari on their valuations.

Try Watchmaster. They are based in Germany but used them 4 or 5 times and they are decent

I'd expect their margins are similar or less than the Authorised Dealers, their overheads will be similar, and presumably their service is as good.

They have to pay commercial rates for property, pay staff, have insurance and utility bills etc.?

    Get real.
