    Seiko SBEX003

Just noticed one I hadn't seen before on the Seiko Japan site - I've fallen in love but quite expensive at about £3.5k ;)

Limited edition with 8L55 movement and linked in some way to JAMSTEC, Japan's centre for deep ocean science - nice! More at https://www.seiko-watch.co.jp/prospe...terpro/sbex003

That looks fantastic, but wow, what a price and have you seen the size of it... 53.3mm×48.2mm×19.66mm. Nearly 20mm thick! It would need to be touch as I'd be bashing into every door frame I passed through with that on my wrist.

    Like the sawtooth style bezel.

I've really liked the look of these - but what is the clasp like?
It's just a matter of time...

No, there was a time when quality dive watches could easily be worn with a suit, this, the latest Rolex and 45mm Omegas and all the other super sized watches clearly show that a gentleman is now supposed to copy the style of a professional footballer or boy from the hood.

I saw this model in Basel. Had my MM300 on and was amazed at the size. Not for me.

Love the look but way too big and thick for most wrists I'd imagine.

Not a fan of the date aperture at 4.5 but aside from that I think it looks great!

At that size, I'm surprised the depth rating isn't deeper

    Yup, would seem so.
I think only difference is the gilt hands and details.

Just seen this watch and fell in love. What price could you get this for now second hand?

Looks great but the size is ridiculous IMHO.

A great looking watch but it is too big, as mentioned previously.

Based on their history alone, I am sure that Seiko have the capability of making a 1000m watch with a smaller case. Why they have to make the case so big is a bit silly.

Can't see what this watch adds over and above my MM300, apart from unnecessary dimensions.

The bad news is though that from the design point of view everything what makes the mm300 a nice watch went wrong on the other model. Proportion (size as well), the bezel side, bezel insert, indeces, shape of hands, ugly screws on end links.

Yeah, but the quality is a lot better.
It's just a matter of time...

Just a little too big even taking into consideration the latest trends of large watches are my humble thoughts on the watch.
