Phil the Sinn Flieger 356 is indeed the black one and the Flieger 356 II is the copper one. There is also a UTC one.
I've not heard any being called 356 I before though.
Is there a difference? I have seen a copper dial version which is usually refered to as a number II :D is it just a mistake on the part of the seller to list as a flieger I, the date of purchase is stated as 2005 if that makes any difference?
Originally I thought the flieger I was the black dialled version and flieger II was copper :?
As ever your help will be much appreciated
Phil

Blimey that IS a nice photo!
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
356, flieger, copper, or UTC are all very, very nice - like all Sinns in fact.
The Flieger is about as near as you'll get to the IWC flieger for reasonable money.
I had the 356 II and it is a stunning looking watch however I thought it was a little too small at 38.5mm :(
I'm now getting an Archimede Chrono which is 42mm, just how I like them 8)
Don't forget the photos. :wink:Originally Posted by Ric356II
Is the case finish the same? I thought the Sinn 356 was beadblasted, the 356 II brushed?
I won't forget :wink:Originally Posted by quoll
Yes you're right about the finish too. The 356 II had a nice satin finish I think they call it pearl :)
Nice photo of 3 cracking watches. If they were only just a little bigger I'd be tempted ..

Great picture that!
The 356 was my entry watch into WIS-dom. I saw a pic, got hooked and looked for a review, which got me to Ewan's review, which got me to here. This, my bank manager informs me, was my downfall. Oddly it took me until late last year to actually have the cash and grab a 356, and I'm enormously happy that I finally took the plunge (I'd held off for more than 2 years), they're just great watches. I think it's watches like these that Sinn just do so very well, the 656 is similarly simple and just 'right'.

there was also a grey dial anniversary edition model that had the brushed case like the copper one. I also saw photos of a special edition for a German jewelry store that had a brown dial with white subdials. Sinn now offers the brushed case on the regular black dial model too along with a display caseback, a prettified movement, and a different style bracelet with a hidden clasp.
Can't wait to see the pics.Originally Posted by Ric356II

Costume jewellery. Ouch!!!
I keep loving mine since 1999. OK, OK, with a short interlude ... :? But now, freshly serviced, with new gaskets and hands, but with the case and glass left alone, it's back in service to my utter delight.
These are stolen from Bärchen at the German Watchlounge and are IMO the best 356 Flieger depictions I've ever encountered:
Thanks,

That's a very classy combination indeed. Love the strap.
Ditto from me. Looks like the strap might be a Bros cuoio volanato, though I'm not sure.Originally Posted by doug darter

:)
I'm starting to think that'd look awesome PVDed on the same strap. :P
This is my fourth 356
my first one...
