C'mon guys, you'll soon get used to it. I like it, it's fresh, and certainly no more difficult to use than the old forum. Put it like this - it's Hobsons choice

    Re: what????

Like everything, I think it just takes a little time to get used to something new. Once you've sorted out where everything is now I'm sure you'll love it. Just pretend it's your first ever visit to TZ-UK and this is what it has always been like

I love the LOOK... hardest thing though is these Avatar's etc. being on the RIGHT, it's the wrong side people!!

Few other bugs but I'm sure they will (hopefully) be sorted out soon enough :)

It's like an unexpected new watch. Odd, shiny, not very familiar at first but I guess one gets used to it soon enough. :D

I agree. Various other forums I use (some non horology ones) all have the avatars on the left. Eddie is trying to teach us to read Arabic.

Tekkno has already posted that there are some mods going in today to tweak the layout, including getting the avatars back onto the left. Hey, it works, that's worth a lot!

I too was not too happy with the change in format, but after spending a while on site I'm getting used to it! Besides I don't mind the avatars on the right!

I also didn't care for the new look, but am slowly adjusting. However I think the font could be a bit bolder.

Erm, a bit confused - logged in just fine, but having sold a few watches recently, where are my private messages or am I being thick?

All looks a bit odd to me, but I guess it's all new :?

    Re: what????

I'm not sure if this is the way to go to post pictures...
In fact these pics (as far as I know) are stored on Eddie's server - and uses his bandwidth and server space.

    Re: what????

I think that is not the case, these pics come from my computer at work, and I would be amazed and puzzled if Eddie had them on his server  .
This works sort of like the system on WUS, where I can also manage attachments, and browse through my own pics.
But someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    Cheers,

    Daddel.

    Re: what????

FF sake how did you get hold of my bike  .
    OK, so far I understand.
But is the system on WUS the same? I allways post pics in this way (well not much), and never had any remarks about it.
But if this causes trouble for Eddie's server I'll quit.

    Cheers,

    Daddel.

Expect it on the bay soon

I think it's the same system on WUS. However, I'm actually not sure if it causes trouble - but I think that the forum isn't tweaked yet and I don't know about Eddie's server capacity ;-)

We should wait (imho) until everything is final :-)

    Perhaps I'm just anal

Click on "Board index", and there's a "View New Posts" link near the top of the page.

    Re: what????

It's getting there. I like the lighter look.

What is not so good is the layout in respect of navigating between sub forums.
Also being on the right, it feels rather left-out ;) and since things are read right to left usually (in English), perhaps that's better.

    Best wishes,
    AP:)

PS Looking forward to the tweeks. :)

Sorry guys, I'm glad they got the forum running well again, but when you have a certain style, just don't make this kind of changes.

I don' t know if this is the sort of thing you mean, but have you noticed the "Jump To" drop down list at the bottom right of the page?

    Re: what????

However I think the font could be a bit bolder.
top right hand corner, just above your username and you can bugger about with the font size.

    For clarification:

The "old" server was running some very primitave software, this forum is infinately more configurable. For those of you that say "oh it doesn't have - insert missing feature here" well actually, it does have, and more. Spend some time familiarising yourselves and you will find these features. The picture thing, quite generously, Eddie has allowed the feature which stores images locally, in the forum, should you so choose! This is a feature which was lacking on the old forum and makes it very simple for newbies to upload their pictures.

At the risk of repetition, i am going to load (have uploaded as a matter of fact) a few different themes and then you can have the avatars on the left or right, as you choose. My problem is, i spent three days sorting this out - and i have a day job - so in order to stave off the wolf from the door, right now i am a bit busy but i will get to it. This forum also requires a great deal of customisation and editing by Eddie, there are 1.8 gigabytes of pics alone to be transferred, Eddie needs to familiarise himself with the new layout so that he can put the clock back, the page header images etc. etc. etc.

It shows that people are creatures of habit, something displaced in the normal routine..............panic attack  .

    All is much appriciated,
