Thats a fucking disgrace. They could of have used a different font at least
I must say I am ashamed and surprised by this showing of lack of honor.
First the Doxa fiasco and now this. No Zenos for Jussi then
I don't get watches made by Zeno anymore, look no further than this.

That's really poor.
As much as I kick myself for not getting a II I would never buy this
Bloody cheek! It even says PRS7 on the back, which it certainly is not! Fake
What disappoints me more than the disappointment of seeing it is that when I tried to order more last year, he told me he had no more cases and I would have to commit to another 300 if I wanted more. I phoned him tonight and he said "Ah yes, these were just a few I made as samples and gave to a friend" (same story as for all the others which ended up on eBay).
Watch out for Broadarrow watches on eBay now because he reckons he has lots of cases and dials, despite telling me last year he had no more cases and I would have to commit to another 300 if I wanted more. Sorry for repeating myself but it's the story I get every time (sorry, GOT (past tense)).
What with Fricker and the Dreadnought clones and Zeno with the "Zeno Speedbird", it's no wonder I've got high blood pressure. :(

That's too close for convenience, or comfort.
Thankfully, it has the Zeno label, which is not-so-popular on the dial.
Now I can see why brands became brands...to some extent.
Best wishes,
AP :)
Sorry to hear this Eddie and a dissapointment for all of us. Sometimes I think our world is going down the drain, not just for values like honesty meaning less and less and money being the new religion...I know it sounds very conservative/republican but it is not that what I mean. And, yes, this also indicates the dark side of ebay...the wild west....
You are above that Eddie. Itīs the same thing as with the DN. - Lots of wannabees out there but non of them is the real deal. Itīs free marketing.Originally Posted by swanbourne

The most honest act of admiration is duplication. Itīs not ok, but it does tell you that you are doing something right. And, we all know you do :salute:
Best,

I'm sure you're speechless :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:
Too bad the original wasn't the Broadarrow Speedbird. Maybe you could've gotten Omega to hunt them down
Disgraceful! Words cannot really convey their behavour ..

If that is the integrity of Zeno we are best off knowing about it now............

Arsehole. I recall exactly that excuse the last time some showed up. PRS-6 last time wasn't it? Not worth doing business with people with no honour. An old fashioned view these days, I know, but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.Originally Posted by swanbourne

Sorry to hear that, Eddie. You do deserve better. :(

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Bloody hell! Even for them that's shameless! With your model name and markings on it as well

I am embarrassed for them.
I'll never buy a Zeno.
Get 'em, Eddie!

If it was me... i'd tell them to stick their brand.
I know from experiance there is very little honour in business but its still sad to see this sort of thing...

I second that. Look forward to the next jobs. No need to have high b.p. They are watching you more than you are watching them.Originally Posted by JCJM

That's very unsettling.
In addition to this obviously being dishonourable behaviour, what I don't understand is why they bother. From looking at their website and the display of a shop very close to where I live that stocks a large number of Zenos, they seem to make all sizes and types of watches you could think of, from tonneaus to fliegers including divers and small dress watches. Why bother blatantly copying another watch just to have one more model in addition to the hundreds they already produce?
Oh, I say - that's bad form. I like John's last comment, though.... 8)
That is bad.
Very poor business ethics. Glad I sold my only Zeno a long time ago!
Hey !! :P . . . An homage . . .
Getting my ....
And those Zeno guys call them selves grownups

This is why large companies take IPR so seriously. I think Eddies should be thinking very carefully about investing in some legal advice from IPR lawyers for future projects. As a simple example I have outsourced various contracts in the past as part of the systems design for previous employers, the terms and conditions that the suppliers have to sign up to are very explicit about this sort of thing. This is why big companies have large teams dealing with these matters.
Just a sign of Eddie's success that you get to the point where you have no choice but to get into understanding IPR and contract law and how you have protect your business.
Its an instance of that famous Swiss neutrality. They treat everyone poorly, especially if there is a buck (franc) in it for them.
Best wishes,
Bob
Bunch of lowlifes.
I will never buy their shite. If that's the way they do business, I'll stay away from them...
But why don't you kick their forum off your site???
Because I've still got a load of stock and the watches do sell quite well. If I didn't sell them in the UK, one of my competitors would pick them up and this would be even worse than the current situation.Originally Posted by Bernard

In that case: I hope you'll sell them well. That way you'll make at least some money through Zeno.Originally Posted by swanbourne
I really feel for you Eddie. I know business is business and all that, but they've really sunk pretty low. I'm sure they'd be straight onto their lawyers if you'd just slapped your name on one of their watches.
I'll be interested to see how many of these turn up in future.
Take a look at item 280208685674 as well. Dodgy, or what?
At least they haven't got Eddie's branding on that one!Originally Posted by Verkitso

Couldnīt resist to quote the following from their web site:
"In the manufacture of ZENO watches, great care is taken to make high quality timekeeping instruments with a good cost-benefit ratio. Since 1922, the watchmakers at ZENO have
been making individual pieces with a prominent personality, distinctive character and timeless beauty"
Of course, by taking advantage of others work you get a good cost-benefit ratio
Eddie, itīs also obvious that, since they are copying your watches, they consider they sport all those features 8)
On a more serious note, this is very disappointing :(
A sad business, certainly, but it could be worse. What's always appealed to me about the Speedbird II is the uncluttered simplicity of its dial. That is entirely reversed with the gaudy Zeno logo, so - for me - the watch doesn't have anything like the same appeal.
Sometimes a 'bad' imitation is less troubling than a 'good' one...
I didn't realize that Zeno were such bastards to do business with. I'm much less enthusiastic about wearing my Zeno Explorer. It's a no-brainer that I will not be sending any more business their way.
