An innnovative musician but a very unpleasant man by all accounts

I've seen and listened to more than a few bands in my day, and I can't think of many that weren't influenced in some way by Chuck Berry.
A massive talent. RIP.
We shouldn't be sad about Chuck Berry. He lived until ninety, invented rock & roll, influenced a couple of generations with his music and lived life fully... I wish I could do 10% of that... Well done Mr. Charles Edward Anderson Berry and rest in peace.
My grandfather taught guitar and everyone wanted to be chuck at least he's left us his music.👍
He was a legend when The Beatles and Stones started and influenced everyone who played gtr.
He has left us many great songs. Thanks to Chuck for a lot of the music that he has influenced over the years and that I have enjoyed listening to.
While growing up in India I always wanted to be a guitarist like Chuck Berry or Mark Knopfler!
A talented man who influenced countless musicians no doubt will be missed. A legend
I bought my first (but not my last) Chuck Berry LP in 1967. He gave me many hours of listening pleasure and in the 60s, EVERYBODY covered his songs.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
The Man . RIP .
Great shame, another legend has passed but his musical legacy is pretty much unmatched.
I was lucky enough to see him back in the day.
RIP Chuck.
Cheers,
Neil.
I saw him once in Vegas, he was like a robot. They strapped the guitar on him and pointed him in the direction of the stage and off he went and did his thing (quite flawlessly too!) At the time I thought he won't last much longer as visibly he had clearly lost it and was in a bit of a trance, it was quite sad to see. However this was in 1998 so he has done damn well!!!
RIP
Told the world that black music would dominate America for decades!
Not wrong

I saw him a couple of times. The best was at the London Rock and Roll Show at Wembley Stadium in August 1972. This was a great show which included Bill Haley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddely, and Chuck Berry. Chuck was on last and went over time, so some dickhead killed the power and stopped him dead. After a few minutes the power went back on and Chuck was told to finish.

Rock & Roll legend.
My favourite track was Brown eyed handsome man, covered brilliantly by Elvis on the Million Dollar quartet album.
RIP.
The word legend gets bandied about a bit too much for my liking but it really does apply to this Man.
RIP Chuck, you gave us all something very special indeed.
