Had some favourable light today and thought this picture came out ok,
Just ordered a SARB033 but looks like it's going to be a month before I receive it. In the meantime I will be rocking the SKX007 on the strapcode Super Oyster.

Yes I can see, very special. Still miss my old knocked together one though.

Most SP450 are from 78-79 so perhaps not very surprising they were made in the same month.
But still pretty cool and also fascinting to see the different ways they have aged (or seemingly not aged as with yours). Have a good friend with a specimen very much like yours, looks like it just came out of the factory.
Recently sold one that was more like yours (but not as mint) and have another one with more wabi & creamy lume incoming shortly, these are addictive!
I've had manys a Seiko over the years but can't fathom why I waited so long to try a 7A38
My new daily, a Seiko 5 Sports 'Mt. Fuji' limited edition, it's also the most accurate I've ever had from new averaging +0.6s per day over three weeks (4R36).

My first post, hello all!
I've been reading about watches for some 3 years now. I started with a Seiko 5 which sadly had its rotor knocked off after it was accidentally hurtled onto a tile floor. Next I bought a SARB035 which I thought would be all the watch I would ever need. Then I got a Turtle to complement the SARB for days when I wanted something more casual. Now I'm starting to think that I should sell the two and graduate to something like a Nomos. The madness, I guess, has begun...
Meanwhile, they remain steadfast.
This for me today:
Seiko 7000-8000 by David Douglas
I don't think i've posted these (Recent incoming!)..
A new crystal needed!!
Think this is called a Seiko Superior Monster (Or something similar!)..
Seiko Atlas..
What's it all about Alfie..
Map meter..
The Superior Monster thing is back on it's own bracelet now..
EDIT- Missed one!!

Question. I like the look of some of these Seiko's, but why are they so popular, especially as they don't seem to be on the expensive side?
No denying the value and they do look great, just feels odd that people aspire to own something like an expensive Rolex, but also covet a cheap Seiko :).
My first automatic was a 2000 series TAG Heuer. I don't own a Seiko (borrowed my late fathers for my wedding on Friday) but I do intend to change that.
Can't speak for others, but that's the way it worked for me. My own watch odyssey took me from the micro-brands (e.g. Benarus, Steinhart) through the likes of Breitling and Rolex. The more knowledgeable I became as a collector, the more I came to appreciate the value proposition of Seiko — the logic and good sense of having a Seiko or two in my collection became inescapable.
Not to say Seiko is without fault. Sometimes their design choices are confounding, and their "all things to all people" business model guarantees they sell some junk no serious collector will touch. But in the category of low- to mid-range automatics like most of the watches you see posted here, they're hard to beat. And at the higher end, it's arguable that Grand Seikos are a better built and better value alternative to Rolex.
Put my old 7548-7000 on a rattly tapering Seiko bracelet...
Can't remember when I bought this. I bought it from a Japanese website - must be 20 years ago, at least. I'm sure I wouldn't have paid more than a couple of hundred pounds for it.
It says Titanium on the back. It's never been a regular wearer although the bracelet is pretty scratched up. I think I read that titanium is relatively soft?
It has a perpetual calendar which recognises the month of the year and adjusts the date display accordingly at each month end. Very clever but a bit of a challenge to make it work after a battery change!
Can't embed my image. It's like this one:

Arrived a few days ago but it is just slightly too small for me.
My new SARB033 that I am struggling to take off, followed by my Seiko version of the Omega Trilogy

Put this one on a new strap. I've not worn it for a while and can't for the life of me understand why. It's a classic

Bought One of these Brand New from H Samuel back in the late '90s.
Saw an advert and was fascinated by the Kinetic technology.
Was reduced from £129.99 to £99.99.
Felt like a million dollars at the time !
Recently found this BNIB example and quickly snapped it up.
