Knee-jerk is YES, it's a fake. Better eyes will chip in, I'm sure, but I wouldn't touch it with a borrowed dick.
I suspect it is but I'm not going to call it with any authority. I'll tell you the backstory after a diagnosis.

Fake, complete with fake 18k stamps on the lugs.
It has 18K stamped on the underside (which it's not) and the rehaut is a mess. Looks nasty to me!
It doesn't look obvious like some of them do, doesn't exactly look well cared for though
It's an awful fake.
Coronet on winding crown incorrect also..
What a wrongun. Didn't clock the 18K stamp but the rehaut is plain nasty.
I bet whoever sold it claimed to have lost the box and papers in a house move 😂😂😂
Yep. Fake.
Genuine green crystal looks green when viewed from the side. That's transparent and they've got the tinge via paint.
Crowns and engravings particularly foul
Yup. Bracelet looks dodge too

Pardon my asking. What is the rehaut?

As others have mentioned the engraving on the rear of the case looks horrid. Not sure that the coronet on the crown is particularly well defined, the pictures are not that clear. Is the dial not a bit off also ? Again the lighting is not great.

Clasp looks too short, end links are a disaster and the ROLEX font on the dial is wrong. Add that to what's already mentioned above, and it's a No from me.
Additionally, Clasp completely wrong, and "MILGAUSS" wrong colour.
yep fake
Yup, fake
The bezel looks way too thick/wide when you compare to the real thing:

The clasp code "CL5" is May 2004. This Milgauss model was introduced in 2007.
As an aside, is there anything other than the bin that one can do with these watches? (aside from wearing them of course). I know a family member has a couple but I've told them the moderate risk of selling on well know auction sites etc. One is a very striking Patek with glass case, moon phase, the whole sketch, which he's loathe to let go for nothing!
