A nice present prior to my 30th wedding anniversary which is tomorrow. There was also the added bonus that the AD jumped me up the list for the next SD43 in store, from 5th to 1st!

Jumping the queue for a SD to 1st place. How is that done or what did you legally do ?

It reads like - he bought the Daytona on the understanding that he got a favourable date for the new sea dweller?

Just got this from Dave in Wales. Swapped off the oem strap for this eBay deployant special. A nicer strap will be picked up soon.

Sold my Ball Hydrocarbon and wanted to try another Oris Small Seconds again, arrived and just sized bracelet, it certainly doesn't disappoint, the build quality is fantastic, a real tool watch

I've looked at these , the only thing that stops me is the thickness of it , how do you find it ? Does it sit very high in the wrist ?

It is a bit of a monster at 47mm and 15.25mm thick but with the curved lugs it hugs the wrist and sits down well, Don't have any comparison shots of the new one but here is a pic of my old one with a SMP and TT1 if that helps, I don't think it looks that out of place. I am a 7.5" wrist but prefer to wear it loose.

Second hand not hitting markers is within spec - that's what Omega and Breitling use as an excuse most of the time. There's too many variables that can cause this and unless the movement has been designed to minimise this (like Seiko movements although the newer cheaper ones seem not to be as good) it's a lottery, either you get a good one like you did or you don't and even resetting hands might not help. That said Seiko is dropping the QC ball and cutting corners nowadays and most of their latest releases I've seen the second hand doesn't align as well as it did in the past.

    Hi guys,

I am currently first on the list for a Sub Non Date at my local Goldsmiths and am expecting the call any day now. Therefore, I have been glued to my mobile since then waiting for it to ring.

Would anyone be able to put me out of my misery as to when I will get the call, such as Rolex don't deliver on a weekend etc. I want to call the shop, but they may think that I am pestering them.

I would have thought they would get the nod to know what they have coming in the morning, therefore would call then, opposed to later on in the day.

Feel free to tell me that I have gone mad!

Bit of Orient green for Father's Day....

....saw this and thought just the job for 18th June....case is pitted but the dial looks a beautiful iridescent green. No idea what is inside (21600bph), but it only winds via movement....and is currently running approx. -70 spd, has an amplitude of 136 degrees (eek) and a beat error 1.4ms. The service will cost more than the watch....

The Stienhart are a nice quality product. I think they're kitted out with an ETA 2824-2 or similar. I bought a Grovana a few years ago. Another take on this popular design.

This flightmaster 911 has finally arrived with me, where it has joined its slightly older and slimmer brother. Although I have bracelets for both they wear well on thick leather straps, the 911 is on a very supple and comfortable custom Toshi.

Picked up this little baby from FedEx yesterday. A little smaller than modern day pieces and runs a little slow but in pretty good condition for a 70 odd year old watch.

Bought this from Adam on Friday after a very pleasant face to face. Noticeable how fellow TZers share similar experiences around watch buying and that there's always a watch that you want no matter what you own!

It's a chunky watch but definitely has presence and charm... Think it'll end up on a vintage rubber strap but gonna try a vintage leather next. Countdown timer doesn't work so investigating that is on the to do list.

Customised Undone Watches watch. Not bad, good looks and hardware, but odd seeing a seconds counter that ticks rather than sweeps!

This arrived Tuesday but I was away! Just got home and played with a few straps. Think I will leave it on a Bulang & Sons vintage black leather. Details over on the Speedy thread.
