I'm only on a 3G SIM only plan with them and haven't got around to switching to 4G yet, but it mostly suits me so I might just stick with what I have now.
only trouble with EE even when you pay for it, it doesn't seem to work abroad, I have had the issue in southern Italy and all over Spain, they just give you your money back and go oops sorry. will be interesting when they are not billing it to see if it gets better.

Yes was fantastic on my recent trip abroad (Spain) - just used my phone exactly the same as in the UK, data and all. They cap data at 15gb/month, but that's plenty. Good coverage.
Long gone are the days of switching the mobile off at the airport and using pay phones to phone home!

The EU ended roaming charges in June.
I don't know about non member states so worth checking.
Also don't know if it will be back post you-know-what.

I've had this with Vodafone for a while now.
Three mobile have also been offering this for a while now.
I've found it very useful when driving abroad and using my phone as a sat-nav. IIRC it was free to use in Hong Kong as well which surprised me.
It's about time all the service providers upped their game and stopped ripping off!
Totally agree; as much as I hate being on holiday with internet access all the time, it is sometimes very useful/necessary and making it seamless seem like a logical step.
Its a shame that roaming isn't permitted here at home, if it were there would be far less ''not spots''.
Might help someone here. Vodafone count turkey as Europe so allowance is fine there.
Carphone Warehouse iD network Takeaway plan. £25 a month for 10gb of data, 5000 texts and 2000 minutes, can be used all over Europe, US and Australia. Not the best network performance but mostly adequate and especially great if you travel a lot (in the 29 countries they service of course...)

I'm on EE and work 2-4 days a week in Europe, I used to have 10gb data but U.K. Only all calls and text were unlimited, I just used office wifi or hotel wifi, last year they offered me same deal but with 50mb data per day in Europe. For a couple of quid extra. I got an email last month to say that was being changed and I can now use my UK data allowance world wide. For £60 I basicly have unlimited calls, text and picture messaging world wide plus 50gb of data with one or two exceptions.

Just got back from a work trip in Denmark, had a trip to Germany last month and going to Germany again tomorrow. All good and no roaming charges with Vodaphone. I have to say, it's about time....
Just spent a long weekend in Ibiza and had more trouble with roaming with Vodafone this year with my inclusive 500MB.
The inclusive data went on Saturday, with an automatic roaming data cap in place, a mobile app that didn't work to uncap or buy more roaming data and long waits on the phone to Vodafone to sort out. Shambles.
TBH I preferred it when I had EuroTraveller and paid £2.50/day to take my UK allowance to Europe.

France yes, Switzerland will depend on the network as not technically regulated, but some will decide to add into the offer.

I'm considering moving from EE. Are the Giff Gaff SIM only deals included in the EU roaming? Their Goody Bags advertised on the website seem to imply UK data only.
They have to be - no choice in the matter - I'm guessing they simply haven't updated the website yet.
Indeed i get a strong 4G signal all but the most remote corners of Europe and nothing at all for most of the East Coast mainline in the UK
When roaming you should get back coverage too as you can switch between carriers as opposed to being fixed to one in the U.K.
The law changed...so now you see adverts saying there giving you something for nothing and how lovely they are 🤡

The adverts should read.." We've ripped you off fo as long as we possiibly could and now we're just going to give you really bad coverage because the law has changed".!!
