Looks like it to me.
Is someone mildly expanding the truth....?

Yep - looks like a standard watch with a few hundred quid's worth of "added value" in the form of references to Special Forces in the ad.
The only thing different about this watch compared to all the other PRS18's is that he's managed to scratch it, which is quite a feat in itself.
I don't think he said that it was SBS issue!? Unfortunately people on ebay always put in key words such as "special forces" "SBS" and the like. He also put in the title "not CWC" so when someone searches "CWC SBS issue watch" his listing will come up in the results! Not so much dishonest as it is annoying for people who know better.

I love winding these "sellers" up...
I asked:
Can you explain what you mean by non arrow issue.
Are you implying that this watch was issued to the special boat service.
What is the reserve price please.
Thank you for your time.
John
Hi John
The watch was given as a gift by precista in 2009 there will be no documents to prove this, non arrow issue means there's no military arrow depicting it was given for active duty wear.
Reserve is £600

So my retort:
Oh I see.
So this watch has NO affiliation with the SBS ?
Or am I misunderstanding your explanation
Thank you for your time
John
To which the rather evasive reply:
I wouldn't be able to supply documentation with the watch proving it was a gift given to the owner sadly.
Regards
I notice that the caseback has no NSN as the later models did.
Just what looks like 0690122...
Did Eddie send some early ones off for sea trials before they were awarded NSN's and pheons ??
Could this be a boot neck trialed original???

Notice this has got ENGLAND at 6 instead of the usual GREAT BRITAIN.
Were they available like this before the NSN was awarded?
Perhaps this is an original MOD trial watch ?
Our horological host with the most may be able to confirm...
The 18A never had a NSN and this is the bog-standard PRS-18A.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Strange...
listing changed.
Now no mention of SF connections.
Up to £620 and reserve still not met.
