    Contractor Tool Insurance

    Hi,

Have any of you that cart around a large amount of tools in your day jobs ever taken out insurance on the tools in the van to save having to technically empty it every night?

I haven't, but any decent commercial insruance broker should be able to quote? I suspect the cost will be prohibitive though, depending where the vehicle is 'store' overnight.

Had it included with my last public liability. One caveat is if you under insure then your not insured at all.

Also the policies I have seen have an upper limit of £10000 for tools which barely covers the basics.

I estimate my van to hold no more than 3k of tools a time so shouldn't be to bad.
