Most grey dealers have full stock.
Well it seems that Japan has no shortage of Rolex stock.
However, still no Skydwellers and the prices are a bit rich!

That is as maybe but it is rare to see the line up above in an AD in U.K. isn't it?

Stock: ten
Presentation: zero
This is hardly news - Japan has always had good stock at the grey dealers and yes the presentation mark is zero.
Availability also seems good at Rolex ADs too. When I was last in Tokyo, there did not seem to be lack of availability of SS Sports models.(excluding Ceramic Daytona of course)
Good God, the presentation makes them look like cheap knock offs

I was led to believe that RRPs in Japan are meaningless and the ADs can charge pretty much whatever they can get for their stock. Market forces set the price, not the manufacturer.
ADs are the official manufacturer approved shops (by definition...) so they charge the manufacturer's retail price. But there is no requirement for watches to be retailed by "official manufacturer approved shops". Not even Rolex watches are, and weaker readers might wish to prepare the salts at this point, medical products or weapons or other controlled goods. The Swiss watch industry tried about 20 years ago to enforce their distribution rights, accepted by consumers so meekly elsewhere, but were rebuffed in court.
So any shop can sell any watch, at any price, assuming they can get a wholesale supply. Most watch retailers in Japan are thus not "authorised", as the term has no special significance in the same way that an authorised retailer of spoons wouldn't be particularly revered.
