Thread: A very rare Omega Seamaster - 1 of 1!

    A very rare Omega Seamaster - 1 of 1!

I was out this afternoon at a new mall here in Qatar - all posh boutiques and knicker shops - and I was in a tyre-kicking frame of mind. Walking past the Omega boutique my eye was caught by this -

And I apologise now for the rushed pictures! They're awful, I know!

It's a limited edition of 1 - I know Omega gets some stick for "limited' editions sometimes. It's a Seamaster GMT, and it's platinum! Small baguette diamonds round the bezel, and the thin lines between the flat of the case and the sides were set with diamonds, too!

Hardly tasteful, but (and maybe I've been here too long!) strangely attractive!

    It was ridiculously heavy!

And on the case back (and my worst picture!) the Omega logo in rubies and diamonds - the Qatari colours. And does the movement usually have a gold rotor?

I was tempted - they offered me a good discount!

Well...if you have to ask!! :-)

It was in the region of about £50k, if anyone would like me to pick it up for them!

I'd actually wear it if that wouldn't destroy the value!

It is obviously pure bling Walter but the dial looks rather interesting. Thanks for showing it.

Between this and the Phelps PO, there appears to be a lack of taste in the design rooms at the moment!

Only in an Arabic country you can find something like that!
I hate to stereotype but, it’s true!

Their lack of taste in design is dictated buy the lack of taste of the buyers. It reflects it, there again only in an Arabic country..

    A very rare Omega Seamaster - 1 of 1!

An emirate son would go in buy 5 of them in 10 minutes and probably wear them once before forgetting where they're gone

I think most of the pattern in my first photograph is reflection from the ceiling of the mall!

I had a quick look on Omega's website but could find no mention of the watch. I wonder how many other odd little LEs Omega put out without telling people?

Maybe it's just a mod by the jewellers there or something? Seems unlikely for Omega to produce a 1/1 Ltd edition. Imagine all the design work and setup for the stone settings.

The dial seems special, it makes the watch actually. Until you find out that it's a reflection of the tiles on the ceiling.

Well spotted. Blue reflections everywhere! It's so much more interesting than the gloss black dial via the second photo.

I hope Omega read this forum, something tells me that a PO ceiling edition would be a good seller.

Another mall? Just what the Middle East needs! ;-)

The watch looks strangely attractive though, can I get it on a bracelet?

That’s why it has a list price of $50K.
Omega, and other brands, will/do make bespoke versions for some of their bigger/oldest ADs – Patek did a purple 5130P for their Edinburgh AD to mark that store’s 150th Anniversary.

1/1 limited? Is it an experimental watch?
