    Think about it.

Really, don't ask here. It's a bloody silly question to ask anywhere even remotely public.

Go ask on 4chan.org. Be laughed at heartily.

If you have to ask a question like this you should stop now and forget about it.

Ignore some of the other comments here. Sometimes people can be really unhelpful. But apparently there is a 'portal' on the christopher ward forum. 300 posts and you automatically get sent an invite. But don't mention dw before you get your invite, because then they won't send you one.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

I was thinking the same. no disrespect to the OP but I can't help but think the title could be "I'm looking to perform a nefarious act. any assistance appreciated"

    Hello

Yes, sounds a little bit off. Mind you not sure someone with the username Deerworrier should be guiding the Op on potential moral compass issues.

I always thought the dark web was when setting the settings on a forum to the darker style option? When feeling a bit sneaky that’s what I do.

From memory I think you download software TOR and gives access to dark web. The difficulty is then finding anything as you need to know the exact reference to a site, there are no search engines on dark web.

It's pretty easy to get on the Deep Web, there are YouTube videos walking you through it.

Most sites are totally hidden, I mean if you upload TOR and use their searchbar ("show me local drug dealers...") then I guarantee you 100% that it's being monitored and you had better proceed with caution. Things like the Silk Road are long gone - after a good couple of years monitoring by the NSA and a handful of other agencies across the world! There is even talk that the Onion Router is now owned and funded by the NSA!

I can see how people would be curious about the deep web but honestly it's nothing to get excited about. Spend an hour on YouTube and watch a couple of videos from the live streamers going through the Deep Web, the headlines are always about child porn, guns, drugs and hitmen but the reality is just a lot of redundant sites and links.

Presuming you're not a ****ing sicko or a junkie, who do you want killed?

the dark net isn't something to get in to lightly.
head over to reddit they have a great newbie section that explains everything.
use Tails it already has tor installed and use encryption for everything. don't use your home wifi don't use usernames or passwords that you use in your normal online life.

and tread very lightly as its very easy to come a cropper.
stay away from guns and kiddie porn. if you're just looking for something for a bit of relaxation then its very easy to get hooked up.
its not full of dead links and is very much active.

The Dark Web is ironically primarily about freedom of speach . Hence the involvement of security services in it.

The nefarious sites are not actually that common. Some legit companies useit for confidentiality. Most of the crazy ones are more likely to be creepy pasta, however you will find that most people selling anything are likely to be selling stolen goods.

However you have the same chance of knowing that as on a normal web site.

There are some dodgey people on there. Best you ensure you are completely anonymous if you venture there.

    Download Tor from here https://www.torproject.org/download/download
A brief directory of Tor sites can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DNMSuperlist/wiki/superlist
Note: Tor URL's are nonsensical and will only work in the address bar of the the Tor browser, and not any other browser you may be using.

If you are thinking of viewing/buying/distributing anything illegal and you are accessing the sites via an Apple machine, you should consider the OS as compromised. Better to use a machine running Linux, Ubuntu, even Windows based OS.

To leave no trace on your machine at all, better to read-up and use a live OS, such as Tails :https://tails.boum.org/
which you can use to boot your system from disc or USB.

Good luck, and stay out of trouble..........

There’s some deep and occasionally dark stuff in some Boys’ Room threads. Is that what this is about?

    Strictly Speaking

Strictly speaking, the dark web is anything on the web that can't be easily seen, so basically sites that can't be indexed by Google. The press has misused the term to refer to sites dealing in illegal items and ideas, but that isn't correct. Most of the sites that do have illicit material do not use http or https protocols, but use protocols like the tor/onion protocol mentioned above.

So the question is: why are you asking?

You'd be surprised. On another forum a poster though it was appropriate to start a thread about getting & selling T shits with the Peado Bear logo on them & couldn't understand why this might not be a good idea. He thought it was funny until it was pointed out to him that his profile contained all the information necessary to identify him. The mods deleted the post of course.

Is that one category or two?

People are often selling guns here, so does that make SC the deep, dark, damp web?

    I'm also getting confused.

Is there a deep dark web then? Or even a down down deeper and down web?

Obviously I don't want to derail this thread or upset the status quo though.

    Cool...

On TV, They also buy and sell things in fake pawn shops, rebuild cars and surprise unsuspecting family members with the results. Have toothless chavs with dirty Reeboks doing DNA testing, show you how Pringles and bicycle inner tubes are made, and hunt ghosts with some fangled meter gadgets. It's true. And don't even get me started on the Alien encounters and abductions.

We look forward to your next question... just make it from "England" please.
