    What Daily Watch?

    Evening all.

I've been mulling my next watch with a pretty specific set of criteria.

Current everyday is a 70s Rolex Oyster 6426; small, fits under a shirt cuff, flies under the radar and quite resilient.

However, change of role has led to a change in lifestyle. There's an office gym, so I head there before work, and don't like leaving something so valuable in the locker (bad previous experiences). Looking for something with the following criteria:

    - Price - £150 or less.
    - Analogue display, don't mind quartz or auto.
    - Strong - will be on the wrist jogging, swimming, cycling.
    - Link to above - water resist for swimming and showers.
    - And to the above - decent bracelet or NATO-compatible. Leather not resilient enough and not a fan of those diver rubber straps.
    - Tidy looks - will be worn in the office, so can't look out of place with a shirt and tie.
    - Must have a date function. Rolex does not and it trips me up.
    - Bonus points: chrono.

The ideal is the Tudor Black Bay Chrono, but given it's worth more than my Rolex, defeats the point absolutely:

Vostok Amphibia leading the way; obviously has no chrono, but strong enough on the other points. I've investigated the Casio G-Shocks but I'm not convinced. Fire away chaps!

Just a thought, but what is it about the BB Chrono (that you have identified as otherwise suitable) that would prevent you from keeping it on and wearing it whilst in the gym?

Absolutely nothing - it fits the scenario perfectly.

Unfortunately, I'm about £3k short of being able to afford one at the minute!

£150 will get you a nice Citizen, although probably not a chrono.

I use a Casio G-Shock when I go cycling, but with your criteria, how about a Tissot T-Touch?

Go to creation watches, select Seiko watches, then chronograph, then sort by price. There are hundreds!
    My pick would be this:

    £86.

Sorry. Just read you want to spend less than £150.

If you want a real beater, what about a Seiko 7002 or SKX? I bought one of the former recently from eBay, when my previous daily watches were an Omega Speedmaster and Seamaster combination. Couldn't be happier.

Seamaster Quartz on rubber strap or if it is under £ 150 Seiko’s and Citizens.
If you put the watch on a rubber strap like an Isofrane you can take it anywhere

    Tempting.

There's one with cool orange hands. I think we have a winner.

Possibly too late with this, but the Casio Edifice EFR-526D-1A is still available from some sellers for about £100, bit smarter than most the options at this price

    42mm, 100m WR.

I had one on leather, it was nice, I gave it to a watchless friend
