I always thought (though probably incorrectly) that these things were announced around Baselworld?
A friend tried to acquire one abroad the other day and was told Rolex informed them it’s now been discontinued. Of course this could be incorrect but has anyone else heard it?
I always thought (though probably incorrectly) that these things were announced around Baselworld?
Still on the website so not likely true
Probably, as I sold mine.
Could just be dealer hearsay, or easier to say it’s unavailable instead of list requests, who knows.
Don't think it has been- but not to say it couldn't be true in the near future.
I'm not sure Rolex ever formally announce these things; it just 'emerges' as stock is no longer available and it disappears from the website.
think it's available but not as much in stock
Sounds like nonsense made up by people wanting to enhance the value of them.
I think any annocement will be at Baselworld, the new whatever it is is being released and will replace the Cameron which will be discontinued etc. Wasn't it such an announcement that caused hundreds of unsold SD4000s to disappear within 24 hours.
I asked to go on the waiting list a fortnight ago and was told that the list had closed
My ad insisted (yesterday) that they were still in production, but did say he hadn't received one for over three months....

I just picked one up and the AD made sure I knew how lucky I was lol.
I hit a wall with all other ADs and some I’d been on the list for several years with zero luck.
I’d love for them to discontinue it lol.
Don't think it's true. Lists are closed similar to walking in and asking for a ceramic Daytona.

my ad had one today for a client a dblue
If it's in the current production book, it's not officially discontinued.
IIRC, around this time last year, we started to hear the same about the SD4000. It was still available as was not as difficult to get hold of as the Deep Blue, and in the Rolex catalogue, but I believe Rolex stopped production and was more difficult to order in. It was only formally dropped from the range at Basel when the SD43 was announced.
Interesting, I got a Rolex booklet sent through last week and it contained all current models with pricing except the deepsea, black or d-blue, I thought it strange
I think it would be remiss of them to discontinue it. It’s also in the wee Rolex book dated 2017-2018
Out of interest, when was this book released? ^^^^^
There has been talk of the DeepSea being discontinued for a couple of years now (in fact at least 2014 when I panic bought mine)
Unless they are replacing it with a new model, why would they?
It's a showpiece for their technical ability. It sells in tiny numbers compared to the rest of the range but simply shows what they can do.
My AD mentioned that stainless steel sports Rolex are less than 5% of their sales
D Blue is still on the Rolex website ergo it is not discontinued. Yet.
When the SD4000 was discontinued it disappeared immediately.
Will be interested to see if this is true.
Now that is interesting. I picked up a book two months ago and they were in it then. This would clearly suggest they have been discontinued right?
Were on page 144

Not that this is binding, but I got sent the latest Rolex book yesterday and it wasn't in there. Not looked through properly so not sure if other models are missing.
Either that or you have a rare misprint - future collectible?
It will be discontinued because I sold mine a couple of months ago.
I am the barometer of getting rid of stuff that then goes stratospheric.
The prospect of four months of under-informed conjecture as to what might be released at Basel in March to replace these watches fills me with something very dissimilar to excitement.
When they both get delisted, will the standard black version suddenly jump up to £12,000?
And the Blue to, ooh, how does £16,000 sound?
Discontinue the blue yes. But why the black?? Find it strange they stop producing both

The blue was on Rolex insta page last week too
Still on the website right now.....
I seems the UK is convinced the Cameron is for the chop and in the US its the LV Sub
More than likely neither
One thing’s for sure, they’ll never be cheaper. Buy now if you like em.
So who's prepared to take a punt and swap a SDc for a DSSD Blue, with no cash either way?
I’m not offering either, it was a hypothetical question.
My assertion was that perhaps since the SDc IS discontinued and the DD ISN’T (yet, if the masses are correct), someone might want to take a chance.

Which end of that hypothetical deal would you want to be on ?
Well having had 2 DSSD Blues and sold them, whilst keeping hold of my SDc, that’s my colours firmly nailed to the proverbial flagpole.

That seems to be a theme. Have many replaced a black with a blue?
