Not really convenient at all. Picture a scenario - If I had given a friend a warch to post for me, and then they had an illness in the family. I would have expected the watch to be enroute. The friend would probably have forgotten all about the watch as they are dealing with a crisis/emergency. Then I find out the watch hasn’t arrived. I need to speak to the friend. And to add another element - It’s Christmas/New Year holidays!
Far from convenient.
It's just a matter of time...

It wasn't Christmas 3 weeks ago, and as a reasonable person, I think I could at least remember to contact the person relying on me to do them a favour.
Even allowing for alternative behaviour, it doesn't excuse the seller from letting the OP know what he's done and waiting to hear from the friend doing him the postage favour.
You don't bury your head in the sand when someone else's money is involved!
So where does the seller stand in terms of 'heroes and villains'?
I'm sure the H&V post will be glowing so we will find out who it was then...
Can’t believe how understanding OP has been. The true hero in this situation.
