Interesting to see that people have 100s! That’s I guess proper collecting. However I found when I hit 15 that the majority never made it onto the wrist. So felt it was rather pointless. Even with 8 a couple rarely get aired. Still doesn’t stop me looking for more!

I have a handful of cheap watches in a drawer, but they never see the light of day so I don’t count them.

For me, the ideal number is three. A quality watch that can be worn everyday without worry, a pure dress watch, and something ‘special’ which for me would be a small, gold annual or perpetual calendar without a moonphase.

If I could have just one, it would be a 37mm Grand Seiko quartz. I don’t know if that’s the most, or least, WIS option there is....

Wow, never seen this before. Wonder where he keeps all the boxes, papers and hang tags?

I started a long winded thread about trying to get to one watch. I got there, and still have it - I’m still sure it’s the perfect watch for me if I only wanted one - but I added a 16600 to the 16570 and I think those two satisfy me.

That said, I’m having one of Eddies new chronometers once they go on sale.

Ideally I want a core 3 watches and then some other watches to play around with, I got a watch box for 12 lol, so I guess 12 is the magic number for me

Time for you to plan a shopping trip.

The magic number for me is 3. Currently at 2.

I am not a collector or hoarder I guess...

I think I am up to seven now. Nothing horrendously expensive but heavy on the divers. I think an enforced rationalisation may be in the cards soon though.

The optimum number is one less than one too many.
You will know when you have too many.

Wow - have just sent my wife the link so that she appreciates how few watches I have!

I’ve just rationalised, because it’s daft keeping watches that are never worn. I’m just not a collector of anything, really.

I’ve got it down to Seiko solar dive beater, a modified (ceramic bezel and domed sapphire) blue Turtle as my daily wearer, a cheap handwinder and a quartz chrono. That’s more than enough for me. I will probably buy an oyster bracelet for the Turtle, but that’s it...for a while, anyhow.
