Just seen this one over at watchlounge. I think this is by FAR the most impressive dive watch ever made.
What do you think Eddie?
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.

Super Compressor maybe?
It's beautiful.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Whose watch is it?
Yep, very elegant watch....Do we know the functonality of the second crown? I do not think this watch has an alarm mechanism....
You're not looking very hard, are you? The text on the dial says "Deep Sea Alarm". :DOriginally Posted by angeche
It's a Memovox Deep Sea 1959 Ref E 857.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
OK first off I'm not back just dropped in to see if any news was posted on the 19. Eddie you must make an homage to this even if it doesn't have the alarm function it would be a perfect companion piece to the 50. So now back to my self-imposed exile.
What can I say? I didn´t want to twist my neck!Originally Posted by hogthrob
Seconded. Not easy to find alarm movements these days I guess.Originally Posted by Ron Jr

Wow... that's lovely.

Yes this is a beauty... makes the original 50 Fathoms ( which I guess is from the same period) look like a wallflower....

The last time I was offered alarm movements it was the AS5008 and they were a small fortune. You could still make it to the same design and have the second crown rotating the internal bezel.

What about the Sea-gull ST28 alarm movement? 8)
What is noteworthy ... for a diver to have a 12H bezel. Any thoughts?Originally Posted by mr1973
Overall, is there any value in having an alarm on a diver? Or perhaps the alarm was not meant to be used as part of the diving process.

Must have been the same wind here John..... and the thought of the second crown rotating the inner minutes bezel..... :hello1:Originally Posted by swanbourne

Right John....... So we just have to decide on a few other details and Eddie can start working on it... :twisted:Originally Posted by abraxas

DO IT-DO IT-DO IT-DO IT-DO IT!
If you build it they will come............... (?)
How about if you make it I'll buy it.
Does anyone know how long it was in production and what variants there were. It's a beauty!

:toothy7: Oh, yes, please.....
That's a real beauty
How do you sett the alarm on this one? Does it have the same kind of rotating inner disc as in memovox?
An homage to that would be the perfect follow-up to the PRS-50, IMO.
Put me down for #005, please. :D
 That is gorgeous. I'd have one 8)
Right. I want one too - this watch is absolutely "wunderschön"
List...
what about a list? ;)
#1 Eddie :D
I would like to start one but there is the SBIII do be done before, right? ;)
Lets's see what movement choice Eddie would have if we would go a bit more upmarket
(that means today a 2824, right? :) )
Cheerio, Frank
I do need One of those. Please Eddie do it!!! :bounce:
Oh god what have I started.....

WOW, this is a lovely watch, I would definitively be in if a project was to start and...... put me down for #043 (aaarrrgh, it's starting again :D )
Benoît
Very pretty, I'd probably buy one.

#48 please, before Crusader reads this :)

That is really a great looking Watch.
A beautiful watch, would love to see Precista do this one! If alarm movements are available, I'd love to see it done as a sports/alarm mechanical watch as I'm not sure it needs to be a serious dive watch. I'm less enamored of 'infernal' bezels, but it would complete the look. #2 please!
That really is a spectacularly beautiful watch. A homage to it probably would sell very well.
David
I am making an educated guess because I also thought about it. I'd say yes, the yellow arrow pointing at 12 is not lined-up properly which means, it's probably on a disc.Originally Posted by messenius

I would so totally buy that. (I hate when that happens!)

That works really well for me - I'd certainly be interested!
