I’m not surprised, it doesn’t really bear thinking about.

    Sad if true.

Purchased outside UK from the serial number.

What a load of cr*p, if that was true you would just give it to a dealer on day one and get the cash, you wouldn't let an auction run for however long and wait for payment at the end, unless of course any self respecting dealer wouldn't touch it.

It's not the sort of info I'd include in an ebay listing .......... it does arouse suspicions though

Agreed. A very odd thing to add to an Ebay listing for a whole host of reasons.

On balance I feel its unlikely to be true and even if it were, its a poorly judged way of getting an softer response from a buyer to maybe ask less questions as not to offend.

In grief like this though, it can seep out in ways like this quite easily. Judgement goes out of the window.

However, the seller has never sold another item on eBay before and I absolutely wouldn't take the chance personally.

In the midst of grief and needing a quick sale the seller turns to e-bay?

My cynical mind tells me this can't be the real reason for selling this watch!

    I do hope I'm wrong.

I bet the buyer was pretty happy with himself ........... for a short while anyway :)

And perhaps the seller was genuinely so over run with grief he was not thinking straight .. we'll never know

What a terrible thing to write in the description if not true.

A funeral for a child of ten is usually free in my experience. The only fees you have to pay are for the minister, and cremation or burial plot .
