Whilst I wouldn’t pay the price for either, it is pretty fundamental to the enjoyment of a watch, no?
The blue looks much, much better IMO, and is the iconic iteration of model.

Supply and demand in action. Of course, if they were £3,195 and £3,995 respectively, you’d probably save up and get the one you wanted, and maybe it’s all relative. But still, at 10 times that... ouch.
That is a crazy price difference, however it is also crazy how much a difference a dial colour can make, I love the blue dial but not a huge fan of the white. I feel the same way about the new SS Skydwellers.
What's also interesting is that the RRP of the blue is £3,800 more than the white.
I'm not sure if the RRPs quoted by Watchfinder are accurate, but if so then PP obviously attach a pretty heavy premium to a dash of colour themselves.
Which is more expensive, £40k for a watch you want, or £32k for one you don't?
If the extra £8k stops the £32k from going to waste, its the money better spent.
Bonkers 40k - 2014 model also!!
I would say that I could buy some amazing watches for 40k (even if I had to pay over the top grey prices), however the sort of person paying 40k for a 22k watch probably isn't the slightest bit concerned about prices.
At that end of the market, nothing much 'makes sense'.
Not that i'm in the market (or ever will be) for one but im clearly quids in (and in the minority) as i much prefer the white dial(the white datewheel with blue dial jarrs with me).
I too prefer the white. Blue is a bit 80s.
I bought the white version....just preferred it. Actually, it's a sort of silver colour. Quite subtle.
I'm looking forward to them hitting £50k - hard to get watches, they are like a new crypto currency lol
It's just a matter of time...
At 46k at the moment.

Bonkers price for Both!
This.
I was lucky enough to get to look at both dial colours together in Cork just coming up on 2 years ago. The white (silver) looks much fresher and cleaner whereas, to me, the blue had a whiff of "old mans watch" about it. So when i had the opportunity of getting one it was the white I wanted, the black hands and indices are also pretty cool.
I suspect the blue is preferred because it gains value quicker as the supposedly "iconic" colour. The white / silver as it is the newer i suspect is therefore not held in such high regards, but remember there was a bespoke white dial made as a one off for a customer and that was the influence of the newer dial released in 2012.
"The Ref. 5711/1A also came with a white dial variant; however this wasn't truly the first white dial as a prototype was made in 1978. Dubbed the 'albino', this one-of-a-kind dial, entirely white and with the same horizontal ribbed finished as the regular production dial, was made specially for a client. It was consigned by the original owner to Sotheby's in 2015 where it sold for a record-breaking 250,000 Swiss Francs. It is Nautilus models like the Albino that really get collectors excited, extremely rare watches that were made for important clients with only one or two examples ever made."
Then again each to their own, I also plumped for the white/silver Skydweller as the blue and especially black did nothing for me.
Given the current pricing on the 5711 anyone want to buy one!!!!??? ;-)
I believe both versions are the same RRP i.e. £22,820 (links below - hit the down button at the bottom of the text to show UK prices):

The blue dial is just a lot more desirable, but interestingly the White dial is rarer which I assume is because it hasn't been in production as long as the blue dial?
