Where did you source the gold lettering one as a matter of interest Matt?

  2. #3802
Tiktox - for the 5000 you can buy quite a few different models which all fit

Dw5030 for example - black and gold bezel was 6.50

Dw5600 i think as well.. so you end up with lots of choice to put on the 5000 etc

i just got the matt finish 35th 5035a i think - so will get a different strap and bezel if i
want to safe the matt one (which is a fluff magnet anyhow :) )

    cheers

On the G-Steel I got the links use spring-bars and not the usual split pin or pin and collar. Any other Gs use spring-bars? What about other brands? Not come across spring-bars on links before.

Do any G-Shocks come on a velcro strap, or is there a velcro strap conversion available?

There are a few, both models and strap conversions. I tried a few at the carnaby street store but didn’t like the strap as much as I thought I would.

    A) Yes, some do. I think the g-lide models in particular are worth checking for this.

    B) Search for jays and kays on American ebay for strap adaptors
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

    GWF-1000-1

And a point of note, according to a G-Central post yesterday the GWF-D1000-1 is no longer in production.

Strange that - I thought it was the standard colour - unless it is selling that poorly and people choose the blue version....

Yes, 30th anniversary edition. Paperwork states 23.9.13 as the manufacturing date.

I bought it not because of 'collectability' but the fact that I like the rose gold / copper accents and the more subdued display.

Here it is alongside the 35th anniversary one which I like as its a bit more bling.

The other things I like about these anniversary DW5000's are the straps which are the same rubber types as used on the GW5000 and the crew back metal cases. I find them more comfortable to wear then the resin strap pressed case back ones.

Yes mate, always liked it but had a PRS3le come up unexpectedly and so I thought I'd move it on but after wearing it for a day I changed my mind and decided to keep both

With 2 more watches on the way my collection is rapidly increasing again, they are orange and yellow too so my watch box will not be shy and retiring!

Just spotted this, the GMA-S130VC-1A - with built in step counter and goal % on the dial. Other colours are available, the blue one appeals. A bit like the GA800 series in terms of looks.

Maybe it’s all this lovely sunshine but I quite fancy buying myself one of these white G Shock watches. I’m assuming it will have to be ordered from Japan so are there any reputable online stores I should look at first or is it a case of looking on eBay and taking my chances?
