    PRS-17C mechanical problem

My PRS-17C has suddenly developed an issue. This involves both the big yellow second hand (the one that counts seconds) and the minutes hand (the big yellow hand with the airplane at the end). The count off fine and stop fine. But when reset, the both wind to the 11 o'clock position, and there they stay until the next start up. Then they both start counting, but beginning from the 11 o'clock position.

Also, the upper right button seems a little slow to push, and it seems slow to release when let go. Maybe this button is failing and causing the issue?

    Thanks

I think this has been covered on here in the past. There is a reset routine in the instructions (B) you can perform which realigns the hands. If it still does it after the hands have gone round and reset themselves, then you might need a new battery and/or the battery contacts cleaning.

Thanks. Are the instructions posted somewhere for this fix?

    Thanks,

They are also printed on the leaflet which accompanies each watch sold.

Though the meaning (in Panel C) of 'Dietting the crown in position II' continues to evade me. :?
