I happen to think that second hand integrated amplifiers are one of the greatest deals in all of home audio. A working one is likely to stay working for quite a long while, and they are often dirt cheap. I'm particularly fond of vintage Luxman integrated amps, but there are deals up and down the range.
If you must buy new, NAD builds great little amps for very little money.
