    Hi sweets

Thanks for the invite. Unfortunately I'm up seeing my son in Bristol next week so won't be able to make it.

    Have a good one.

Turns out I’ll be in the south west on 11th - but in Plymouth.

Maybe that’s a bit too far SW ?

Didn’t get the PM - but I assume I’m too far SW for this one (Plymouth)

Meeting in Crayford at 2:00 means it's unlikely I will make it on this occasion. Maybe next time...

    Hi Mark.
It was a great evening. Agree. Don't think I'll ever see such a great collection of watches. Lots of highlights. Geckota have got some great developments coming up. The dirty dozen - amazing. Tudor snowflake sub, speedmaster 4.5, a-13a with amazing quartz movement, patina perfect brass Armida, lovely Lorenz chronograph, subs...deep sea....oil filled Sinn, Omega Ploprof.......
    Thanks for arranging it Dave.

Bristol / Glos / Somerset / West Wilts?? GTG - October

Great night gents - and what a selection!
"Rolex Corner" with the 5513, Sea Dweller and Deep Sea that had all done their stint under water was a highlight for me, but so many other gems around the tables.
Plenty of Sinn, lots of Tudor both old and new.
SEIKO mods, military galore, a Felix Baumgartner, De Luca - too many to mention.
    Cracking.
I managed to be so busy chatting I didn't take a single photo, so bring them on gents, and here's to next year's Caribbean GTG yeah?
    Johnny.

Well, that turned out to be a great evening, with some new friends along with the usual suspects. I was amazed at the huge array of goodies, and the depth of knowledge within the group.
Thanks to Dave for organising the event, and looking forward to the next one.
    Regards,
    Bazz.

Extremely enjoyable evening with like-minded folk. First time I've not felt a complete nerd wearing two watches. It's also the first time I've seen a Hulk in the flesh. I've not been a huge fan looking at photos but photos really don't do it justice. I also lusted after a couple of Sinn EZM's & Dave's BBC issued Lemania Nero. So many other awesome watches to mention & a great display from Geckota. Thanks Dave for organising.

The simple objective (imho) is to mix with like minded watch geeks, try on watches that you may never have the opportunity to see in the metal, and get re-energised in a hobby we all love.

Tim - who now has an interest in Seiko MM300 and vintage Lorenze chronos - which I didn't have beforehand....

I'm spewing gents, I came down with a dose of AlfaRomeoitis at the last minute. Why did i put it in for its MOT the day before the meet?? I did ask Sweets via pm to pass on my best regards and apologies.

Some cracking watches i would liked to have had a look at. Is that a complete dirty dozen i spy?

    Next time.

Disappointed I couldn't make it; was looking forward to it, but such is my health!

Hope you all had a good one.

Hopefully next time I'll be feeling up to it.

    Cheers

Was a good night and I have a feeling an expensive one, trying on the 16600 Seadweller had me smitten and reaffirms that one day I need one, the GS Seiko was mind blowing, loved the Lorenz Chrono's and so many more, was also nice to see Gecketo their with lots of their range, my MM300 and oiled filled Sinn got more attention than I was expecting so all in all a great night..

Thanks to everyone for bringing their watches along and of course to Dave for sorting everything out, be good to do this on a more regular occasion

Not the best pic but it was really stunning and the rotor was something else, not sure of the owners name but I’m sure it will be revealed..

Disappointed not to have made it. My appointment in East London finished early but I was caught up in the travel difficulties following that terrible crash on the M4.

Hopefully next time. Sounded like a great evening.

Thanks Dave for organising, two years has flown by! Thanks Bazz for reminding me!
    Good food and venue.

Great to see old friends and new, this is the best thing about this hobby, getting out there rather than watching people argue online.

Just uploading my pictures now, they might be finished tomorrow but they are pretty similar to the ones above.

Looks like a fantastic time was had, wish I could have made it, but ended up working the day from hell, finishing late and 2 hours from the venue.

Shame though for me as that longines stop watch is amazing and would love to see that, that is the grail for a stop watch collection.

1968 Longines Cal. 262, 1/10 Split Second Chronograph. I've seen it described as the Official 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico but Omega was the official timekeeper at that Olympics so I'm not so sure. Whatever, it's a very nice thing.

It has a Longines 262, 24 ligne, 23 Jewel, 36,000 movement. So ticks 10 times a second. It really is a work of art.

There's a Vernier scale on the flyback hand which enables 1/10 second to be read.

The stopwatch is 66.6mm in diameter & has it's original case with remote control pushers.

    Thank you, that is amazing.

Love stopwatches, especially split second ones.

Great movement shot. Must do a decent shot of my split second Heuer movement.
