This is excellent, and he's wearing a Speedy:
"A man of little significance"

Excellent stuff!
He makes it look so easy and effortless. I've been playing on and off for 42 years and I'm still a plucky amateur!
Anything by Mark Knopfler has my interest.
Thanks for posting this!
That guy is a legend.

Fantastic. I could watch and listen to him talk about playing guitar all day long. Even the Speedy doesn’t distract me!

One of the best no doubt. So relaxed in his playing, he just makes it look effortless
Really enjoyed that. Always loved Dire Straits and he is most certainly a genius!

Brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
Sultans of Swing has to be up there as one of the best guitar solos for me. Outstanding.
Masterclass.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
One of my favourite guitarists.
Master!
Excellent video. Really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.
I was driving into work late this morning and heard him playing live on Radio 2 Ken Bruce show. Well worth listening to if you are a fan. I'll be having another listen tonight. ...and maybe picking up a guitar after watching that video

Genius. I can (just about) recall first hearing Dire Straits in the late 70s and have been listening ever since.
ETA. Just listened to his appearance on the Ken Bruce show this morning - excellent!

Thanks for this. Will be seeing him perform live in concert next year on his tour, ‘An evening with Mark Knopfler’. One of the all time greats imho.
Very nice indeed.
Not a huge fan of his music wise but he always comes over so well and is a lovely player.
Made me look out my old bottleneck for another go!
Cheers,
Neil.
Back in the day i went to Mcr Apollo to see someone and the support was a pub band from that London called Dire straits. Now this was around the era of punk so cue jokes about Diorrhea Straits etc, usual catcalls for support band etc. The band come on and start to play and within one song there was no mockery as we realised this was something unusual. they were touring the first album so by the time they were in Sultans of swing I do remember it had become a bit of an audience frenzy. The rest is history but a v.talented player who hasn't squandered his talent and used it to play on things that interest him (Bob Dylan, Chet Atkins etc)
As a non-guitarist I didn't understand a word he was on about, but thoroughly enjoyed listening to the video.
