Should have double ar on the crystal to make the most of the dial IMO.
Interesting idea though, one you'd have to see in the flesh.

Does look bloody kovely, perhaps a bit on the large side for me as it's 42mm and all dial.

Not sure what they’re using, but H. Moser bought the exclusive rights to Vantablack. Result was fairly impressive.

Interesting news! Wonder if Panerai will start trying to develop their own black material after their LAB ID model. Would be a shame if it was used exclusively in watches priced in the five figures as I think it achieves a cool look.

I actually quite like that. The non dlc version with white lume would be my pick. A 38mm or 40mm version would be nice.

Didn't Richard Mille do that for another 'really really black' colour?

Now that appeals to my minimalist side but any watch with decent lume looks good without the lights on, how good will it look in daylight?

Our super-black coating is up to hold the world record as the darkest man-made substance. It was originally developed for satellite-borne blackbody calibration systems, but its unique physical and optical properties have resulted in it finding to create the best readable watch dial.

The Chronotechna watch face absorbs virtually all incident light, making it ideally suited to addressing a host of light-suppression and light-management problems, such as under water or under extreme sun. It reflects so little light that it is often described as the closest thing to a black hole we'll ever see.
    Ummm. About that crystal...

Sapphire coated mineral seems a bit of an oversight on a watch that's all about the dial. It does give some scratch resistance but not nearly as much as a proper sapphire.

I would only be interested if it had 'Limited Edition Swiss Made Self-Winding Watch using Aerospace Super Black Coating' printed in a prominent position on the dial in big letters
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

    Big luminous letters.

Looks like they had Tony (learningtofly) doing the lighting. ;-) As for . . .

"delivering the most fascinating and best time reading experience in the history of watchmaking"

    Hmmm.

It would also be better if it said ‘BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK’ on the rehaut around the dial.

How about 'in vain have I endeavoured to fill the vacuum of my life with horrendous baubles, ps what's the resale value on this bad boy'
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

At 1m 34s in the video the seconds hand appears to be moving backwards...

Liking that quite a lot, all black with tan strap it would be for me, but which lume colour?

Right idea, wrong execution. But I’d like to see a better looking watch like a GS with a super-black dial, which is more or less how the black dials look in the evening. In the day though you can see the matte black surface which looks much less striking, so these advanced materials would certainly be useful.

Noticed that too, rewound and rewatched a number of times. No idea what was going on.

The early bird prices seem worth it for the movement alone, but design is a bit "meh" for me. Makes it look like a toy rather than a proper watch. The modernist/minimalist look is also killed by the generic looking hands.

But again decent value for a SW 200 movement.

    +1

It could have been much better designed.

I'd wager they shot the film, didn't quite get the flow of the images they wanted with what they'd filmed, so ran a bit of what was filmed in reverse.

Looks like yet another kickstarter gimmick watch to join the other hundreds of anodyne hyperbole-ridden ones.

It's so black like a black hole it not only sucks in light but time as well and reverses it.

The exclusive right to use Vantablack for retail/artistic applications is owned by Anish Kapoor, which he extended to H. Moser.
