Just read that. Sad news, although 95 is a good run.
RIP Stan Lee.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
He built an empire from humble beginnings and must have been proud to see how massive the Marvel franchise is in cinema. I'm glad he lived to a ripe old age and always had that Hitchcock cameo appearance in the movies.
I've been a huge fan right from when I started reading the comics as a youngster in the mid-late 70s (still the golden era for me with John Byrne and John Buscema) and then again in the late 80s. I remember the Spiderman tv series in the early 1980s and how they struggled with the special effects but it would be another 20 years before technology allowed the characters to truly come to life.
There's a TZer here who is a brilliant artist for Marvel - I've forgotten his name but maybe he can give his views on SL as I'm sure he would have met him.
That's so sad. A person with so much influence on generations of children.
Hopefully he has found a new Marvel Universe to conquer.
Special thanks for Deadpool - my kind of comic book hero.

A good innings, I always enjoyed his cameos.

Marvel comics were such a big part of our childhood. My brothers and I would literally fight over The Amazing Spiderman and the Secret Wars series.
Legend! But 95 and what he accomplished, truly a life well lived!!

He will be missed by many.
Both my son (12) and I are fans of the Marvel Universe and always look forward to the latest film and Stan Lee's cameo.
Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk et al are part of popular culture worldwide and probably will be for many years to come. Amazing to think that one man was the originator for those characters.
RIP.
RIP Stan.

RIP Stan
Thanks for the well needed escapism and enjoyment your comics provided for me in the 70's
As has been said I'm so glad he lived long enough to see his creations finally bought to life on the big screen
Rip great contribution to comic superhero genre and film adaptions .

Adi Granov. An exceptional artist, funnily enough I was looking at some of his prints on ebay yesterday - I can't afford an original piece of his artwork but there are some very cool A3 size posters that I must have.
As to Stan Lee... 95 wasn't a bad innings, and he'll live on forever in print.
Excelsior!

A genius who’s inspired few generations and hopefully will inspire many more through his outstanding work.
I used to really like Spidey and Friends the cartoon, also Spiderman on a Saturday night. Shame no one else in the family did.
