Looks great! Proportional, which what you said. :)
Is that horizontal, not vertical, brushing I see on the case sides? :P

It will be less than £400 and the next batch won't be any cheaper because the standard ETA2824 for the next batch now costs more than I paid for the "Top" version last year.

thank you Eddie, so a bit more spagetthi and a bit less kaviar the next month, right? ;)

Looks great - reminds me of the PRS1

Looks great Eddie, well done :thumbright:

Sub-£400 sounds good to me, now to wait with baited breath (and credit card)!

Looks great!
Wait, I actually didn't see anything but the back?!?
I want to see the face!

Looks fab Eddie! When you get a moment, I'd be very interested to see a pic of the SB3 next to the 1903 please.
Cheers,
Guy :)
Great hands and adte placement, Eddie, and I fully second what you said about the importance of proportion for the overall design. Great price, too. :)

What? Hands? Where?
Can't see the pics.... gone back 5 pages now but still nothing?!?
I've only seen the photos of the back.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
The length of the hands is about perfect, I'd say!Originally Posted by Crusader

Oooooh. Had to clear the cache and reload it! Now I see it :-)
Thanks Dave :-)
Holy cow it's just right. Everything.
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
This is truly MY sort of watch.
I love it to bits.
And since I've fallen from my bike yesterday, please have pity with me and make sure I can get one  .
But seriously, very fine job Eddie.
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Great one Eddie :thumbright: ...
... but I think I will have to wait before I jump in after the PRS-5 and PRS-53 :D
And I must admit I still have a problem with the bracelet.
Oh, I forgot to say, as lover and frequent visitor of Great Britain, I really like the "Great Britain" on the dial 8) 8) 8) .
Cheers,
Daddel.

Bracelet, schmacelet. This watch was meant to be worn on a strap. ;)Originally Posted by Ben265

Hopefully I will be able to jump in and order one of the first 50, how long does it normally take for a run of 50 to be sold out, minutes, hours, days even?
Love the bracelet.
There was a film from the 70's called 'Gone in 60 Seconds' That could be a new TZ-UK catch phrase :twisted:Originally Posted by daveathall

This is what brought me to TZ-UK almost 2 years ago and to finally see the end result is quite satisfying. I think back to the spreadsheet I started in order to evaluate all the characteristics of a pilot's watch that I like. Everything I determined that I wanted is now represented in the SBIII. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is perfect for me. The size, the proportions and all the design elements have blended quite harmoniously. As for the bracelet, I think it's great even though I may get a strap too. It's much easier to start with a bracelet and find a suitable strap than vice versa.
My current lack of funds has liberated me from worrying about buying one of the first 50. I'll just sit back and bide my time. I've already been waiting two years, what's a little longer.

An interesting question ... maybe we should have a bet, and the winner gets an SB3?  :wink:Originally Posted by daveathall

6 hours I say.

I don't know if anyone's pointed out how gorgeous the watch is...
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I HOPED IT'D BE !!! CONGRATULATIONS, EDDIE !!!
Positive thinking now: The SB3 will appear for sale just seconds before I check into the forum, and I'll be among the first to order one.

Nice pic, Eddie - love the reflection! Congratulations - I hope stuff like this makes all the negative stuff (Broadarrow, DN revisionists) fade into the background.
Oh gosh, Eddie. I really, really, really, like it.
It seems more visually balanced than the original, in fact.
Hope you'll give us a little forewarning before it goes up for sale.

That really looks the business!

GOT...TO...KILL...CAPTAIN STUPID!
With this second photo you can see the detail of the dial much, much better.
The quality looks very good indeed. What a beauty!

What a picture! THAT'S MY WATCH!!!
Please excuse the shouting, I got a tad over-excited.

Looks good, although at first I though concord was imprinted on the dial!
/vince ..
Is the bracelet (and the case I guess) brushed or polished? Looks quite shiny in the last photo, and to my mind better for it!
Well I could mock about the bracelet and the tough sale procedure and that nobody
regards my self-made list and so on BUT at first that run makes it even more fun to
try to get one and secondly it looks fabulous!!
Hands, dial + the whole spec - really great Eddie.
As the others said: Great Britain!
Cheerio, Frank
Updated the first page to include Eddie's latest pictures.
Spectacular!
C'mon - how did you get a reflection of Concorde on there?

Can anybody tell me how an IWC Mk XV or Mk XVI Pilot's Watch, or their previous Mk XII for that matter, out-specs the Speedbird III in any technological sense? There's a huge difference in price between these, but in what horological sense or detail is the IWC product at 5 times the cost of the SB3 better? I sure don't know.
Beautiful job on it Eddie, Congratulations. I bet they're all spoken for within 24 hours of release. Rollon
After years of WISdom, I find that price does not necessarily correlate with quality, or specs.
Perhaps the fact that IWC owns a Ju 52/3m airplane, and decks out celebs with its products is reflected in the price. :drunken:
Hey Eddie, how about having a vintage BOAC Speedbird restored and offering free flights to your most loyal customers and foruzm members? :P
Cheers,
