Have you taken a look at Eddies selection - the price point matches well and he has a very decent choice to work with on the timefactors website.

I am looking to add an everyday watch to my collection. Something fairly rugged but can be worn in any situation. Ideally it should have:
1) decent water resistance (at least 100 meters ideally 200)
2) be suitable for both the office and weekend wear.
3) suitable for smaller wrists ( less than 48mm lug to lug)
4) thin enough to fit under a shirt cuff
5) £350 or less
6) ideally a date window
I'm looking for something that isn't a diver but open to any and all suggestions. I was thinking of picking up a Seiko sarb035 but wondered if there is anything that might be a better alternative.

Are you bothered about movement? Assuming either quartz or auto?
My initial thoughts are Orient Bambino (various styles to suit your taste, readily available for sub-£200), Seiko 5 (again different styles and I think all include at least date, some are day+date), or perhaps a Timex - something like the Easy Reader or perhaps the Weekender?

If this takes your fancy, go for it - I bought one in the first run and it has only been knocked off my wrist by my Tudor GMT (which I received last week). It is even calling to me now - was a tough choice this morning! It doesn't have a date complication though, although the design is magnificent.

Hamilton Khaki Field?
Certina DS with the Powermatic 80 movement, currently wearing mine since Xmas and accuracy is about 2.5 secs a day.
Has all the above and should be within budget with a bit of digging around.
You don’t say whether quartz is acceptable. For your task, it could be the best choice. For example, the 40mm titanium Citizen, 30atm, quite neat and slim, less than £300. On the left....with my own Hirsch strap.
Decent lune too.
I think that if you already have decent mechanical watches, quartz can be a great addition.

Casio GW-M5610-1ER
Fits all your criteria.
As recommended, get a PRS25 36mm nothing comes close at that price new.
I think the 38mm Hamilton Khaki ticks every box on your list (you can get them for your budget easy enough).

I keep threatening to buy one but its too similar to my CWC G10 (also worth looking at if you fancy a quartz option).
Eddie is producing some great stuff at the moment, but as an alternative, and it may be a bit large, but I am enjoying the British-designed Alkin at the moment - just over £200 delivered

If you don't mind quartz, have a look at these:

What about the CWC G20 GS sapphire? 200m water resistance sapphire crystal option for date and £289?

The G10 GS Sapphire was going to be my suggestion also. I think it would be fine for the office, you can buy clip leather straps(Rios being a good brand) which would smarten it up in seconds. The is also the PVD black model which I think would look rather smart on black leather strap.
A stretch on the budget would net you a Smiths PRS29a.
