That's a good article, I also read a very insightful article in the Observer a couple of weeks ago with a similar view. The US is pro-business/anti-regulation which has created an environment where companies effectivley self regulate. Ok when it only effects US citizens but when the largest plane manufacturer in the world gets to decide what does or does not need to go through an extensive test & approval process, as Boeing has done with the Max, we now find the entire global aviation industry caight up in the US Govs lax approach. Boeing knew that getting the plane approved through proper regluatory processes would be long and arduous with the potential to fail. The loss of large orders to Airbus drove them to take shortcuts to release the Max quickly.Originally Posted by PickleB
Boeing deserves the reputational damage and loss of sales that result from this decision as it was a clear example of corporate arrogance & greed. It will take a long time to recover its market position.
