    ! Sellers/buyers be careful with Tomw2000 !

This account has just asked two sellers of a PAM and Blancpain to PM him (peculiar request in itself) and hasn't had any posts on here since 2017.

Might be legit, but seems mighty suspicious.

Good spot. Might be nothing, but timing and style seems concerning.

I think Eddie deleted the long term inactive accounts. I suppose If a hacker got into an inactive account and posted something or sent a pm to someone just before Eddie acted, it would not have shown up as an inactive account?

How do TZ accounts keep getting hacked? I'm sure it's something simple but I can't figure it out?

No hacking involved, in 99.9% of the cases members are just sloppy with their passwords. Too many members still seem to use the same password across many sites. There have been numerous hacks of passwords (Yahoo LinkedIn, Adobe, Imgur and thousands more) where lists of 100 Mio+ email/password combinations are freely available on the internet. Anyone can download these and programm a little script to try them on hundreds of thousands of unrelated sites. You'd be surprised how many still work, years after the original breaches have been made public.

Anyone can check if there are records about your emails in the downloadable datasets and I can only recommend that you do that: https://haveibeenpwned.com/

In any case, use different passwords for every site, use a password manager if you cannot remember them.

People use simple passwords and use them on multiple sites - nothing more complex than that.

Pity that site doesn’t tell you the details of any matches it finds, tells me I’ve been p’wned 10 times but no idea where.

Tomw2000 says it's a mistake and he is legit now, so apologies if this is indeed correct:

But thanks for the heart-warming ‘welcome back’. ;)
I'm still perplexed why someone would tell a seller to 'PM me' in their sales thread when you're the one wanting to buy it. But, welcome back, if it really is you Tom

I think it does when you register?

In any case, just change your passwords.
