I check this thread fairly regularly drooling at what everyone's drinking. All out for me sadly since being diagnosed with Coeliacs around three years ago. There's a few gluten free options out there but pretty limited really so thought I'd have a go at homebrewing again after a thirty year break. Just brewed an IPA and it's really rather nice and works out at 45p pint.

    Cheers and good health.

That's a good looking pint. My son has Coeliacs disease this is his favourite beer. Won many awards apparently.

Thanks for the recommendation, will have to give it a try.

Because of the difficulty getting anything gluten-free in supermarkets near me I’ve been buying cider but I’m not that keen.

Nice to see some mainstream companies bringing out gf versions and Old Speckled Hen is quite widely available and I like the taste of Brewdog’s Vagabond which is very nice and very hoppy.

    Cheers

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

    From my local micro brewery
I am not convinced. It is very lively though, it’s like drinking a fizzy double espresso.

It is only 3.8% which is about my sweet spot for beer.

Not sure how it was lost - I found it in Tesco fridge without any difficulty. Hoppy lager. Will polish off the neat little box of four before baby bath time, me thinks!

Another couple of gluten free offerings that I can recommend.

Daura is lovely and they also do a lager which is in most supermarkets. This one is deceptively smooth and innocuous but has a pretty high alcohol content. My local Asda has used to have this but not seen it for a while.

Had quite a few of the Celia Dark on a recent holiday to Prague pre-lockdown. Absolutely lovely but seems unavailable over here sadly.

    Cheers

It appears I can paste pics again, so a few new ones from last night and today.

Nice IPA from Bristol’s Left Handed Giant last night...

Honest Brew drop arrived earlier, so the fridge is looking more colourful again...

In response to the “dark then light or light then dark”... always lower and lighter first for me, then stronger/darker. If you go the other way round anything with a strong malt base, adjunct or heavy hopping is going to fubar your tastebuds and affect the taste of anything lighter or less hoppy after.

Today I’ve kept to that rule, starting with a light table beer from Track Brewery...

A delicious, crisp pils from L&G to go with my Chinese takeaway...

Brewdog are advertising this heavily on FB.
It's down to £1 a can on their website, with free shipping if you order enough....

Remember lads, pubs open in a month - that's a whole month to get back up to prime drinking weight!

Another quality refresher from Duration. I loved the first 2/3’s of this. The last 1/3 ended up on the carpet after the dogs went mad about something in the back garden and knocked it off my sofa-side drinks table.

That's on a handpull in a pub near me. One of the lads drinks it half and half with Pedigree, and the Pedigree has to go in the glass first. It's now known as Pedidoggle.

Not too heavy, well balanced with just the right bitterness. I'm ordering my third case shortly, along with some of the black lager they do.

Anything for some press. First being sued for only selling pink beer to women, then punk sanitiser which was rejected by the local hospital for not meeting medical standards now this. I bet they think they're super edgy.

Very sad to read that Roger Ryman has passed away aged only 52. I don't have ant St. Austell in at the moment, but I'll certainly get a few bottles next time I'm out and raise a glass. RIP.

Yeah I’m not actually a fan of Brewdog’s beers normally but this one is quite nice. I liked the wind-up aspect of it too.

St. Austell do a black IPA called Proper Black, a regular of mine until Tesco stopped selling it, a beautiful drink.

Greene King also do/did an equally good black IPA which suffered the same fate.

Our now weekly Tesco delivery arrived earlier. I'd said to Mrs Mag yesterday to stick my usual quaffage on, meaning 2 Hobgoblin 4packs. Imagine my joy when unpacking to find 4 bottles I hadn't expected, but which were on the order from last week that she'd duplicated.

    I have a selection cooling to choose from later . . .

Didn't realise Bob that Tesco did the Milk Stout and as we have a slot for tomorrow it would be rude not to! If it's anywhere as good as the Blackshore should be delicious.

I've started looking around some breweries to see if their beers can be bought reasonably online, it's often delivery that's the bugbear. I think Sam Smith's charge @ £8.50! It makes their excellent Chocolate Stout @ £3.70/80 a bottle, I can buy it in Fenwicks up the Toon for £2.49! However this Gangly Ghoul from Greene King is interesting, and with an introductory 10% off, and including p&p it's @ a reasonable £1.75, or £2.17 without discount, still a decent price.
