ROLEX DAYTONA "LA BARRICHELLO" LIMITED EDITION

Pretty unique piece here, at around twice the price that I paid for my house!

This design makes me wish Rolex would hurry up and put a ceramic bezel on the precious metal bracelet models

Looks like a heavily modified 116505, beautifully done but not to my taste.
I wonder who would service this, don't think RSC would touch it.
Do like the brushed finish though.

Certainly a lot of work gone into that, but it's not very clear. I had to hunt around to find the hands.

I understand the Artisan de Geneve hype, have a friend who bought one (they messed him around quite a bit regarding it) but i think its aiming at a market who just want something no one else has as opposed to any value. The modifications are done incredibly well but not THAT price well. What do i know, they sell out by the looks of it!

There were rumours that with this year release (now next year) would see the ceramic bezel on the precious metal bracelet and on the two tone Daytona

The Rolex Daytona has one of the best modern automatic integrated chronos with vertical clutch movements around. But it is not a looker by any stretch of the imagination. And you cannot polish a turd sadly. Best it stays behind a solid caseback and dial!

It was once beautiful and now looks like an old Soho slapper.

    Nope.

It's like the Overfinch of Rolex. Not for me and quite garish.

Poor old Rubens must have really hacked them off to have had this named after him!

From the Artisans de Geneva website,

    THE RUBENS BARRICHELLO PROJECT

We would have never imagined the challenge that awaited us when Rubens Barrichello came to us with this extraordinary project: revisiting his Rolex® Daytona® by giving it the mechanical style of racing cars. With him, we have made a series of extremely technical modifications inspired by the automotive world. Revisiting the emblematic 4130 movement from that perspective was a major challenge. Each detail, each element, is a tribute to this exceptional pilot and his love for racing. Through this collaboration, we aim to offer all automotive enthusiasts, in a limited capacity, the unique personalization of Rubens Barrichello, one of the greatest riders of all time.

This personalization has been requested by a private customer.

The original isn't the best looking and they're made it much worse. I'm sure it will sell though.....

Quite an achievement to make a Daytona dial even less legible!

Got to laugh at the promo blurb - he was a driver, not a rider!
